Sushri Uma Bharti inaugurating the tourism office in New Delhi

SUSHRI Uma Bharti inaugurated the new marketing office of Madhya Pradesh Tourism at Hotel Janpath, New Delhi in the presence of Kunwar Vijay Shah, Minister of Tourism and Culture, Madhya Pradesh. The government of Madhya Pradesh is giving a renewed thrust and a new dimension to development of tourism in the state.

Citing development of infrastructure and improvement of roads as her first priority, Sushri Bharti spoke of the development of the Pench National Park into Mowgliland and making it into an attractive tourist destination for children. She informed the audience of the progress made already in improving connectivity by road and stated that Jabalpur would soon be on the air map. This would enhance the tourism prospects of Kanha wildlife sanctuary and the Marble Rocks, two of the well-known tourist destinations in the state. She felt that the beautiful ancient forts dotting the countryside should also be given a face-lift and made accessible to tourists. ?Tourism can be a major source of growth and employment in the state,? she added.
