Only eternal faith and culture can guarantee peace in north-east
Seven groups of 77 prominent Vanvasi leaders of north-east were recently on a countrywide tour to apprise the countrymen of the prevailing situation in the north-eastern states. A group of 11 such people reached Dehradun recently. They were extended a warm welcome by the local public. The delegation opined that only traditional faith and culture could guarantee peace in north-east. They said that most of the north-eastern states including Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram had now become Christian-dominated states. They pointed out that several revival movements had been started by more than 30 different Vanvasi organisations to bring the converted people back to their original fold. They appealed to the countrymen to extend a helping hand to them.
