FOC Bapu Nature Cure Hospital and Yogashram of Naturopathy A Nature cure and yoga are gaining popularity in today’sanxious and stressful world, as they are the treatment systems without drugs and surgery, and without side effects! Nature cure and yoga ensure sound health and longevity as they support the holistic qualities of body, mind and spirit. In order to make people aware of these treatment systems and influenced by the Gandhian way of life, the Bapu Nature Care Hospital and Yogashram, was established in 1984. Located at Gandhi Nidhi, Patparganj, Delhi, under the auspices of Nature Cure and Yoga Trust, the hospital is the outcome of the efforts of a dedicated team of qualified naturopaths. With the service-oriented efforts of Dr R.M. Nair, a qualified naturopath, as Director of the institution, Bapu Nature Cure Hospital and Yogashram today claims rapid growth and popularity with its multi-faceted activities. The hospital, having carved a niche in the field of naturopathy, caters to the needs of 50 indoor and 100 outdoor patients with highly scientific equipments at low costs. ?We work with the aim of promoting naturopathy and keeping the society healthy and disease-free. We observe that in today’slife each person is suffering from two-three diseases, such as hypertension, diabetes, etc. These diseases can be easily cured with naturopathy techniques,? informs Dr Rukmani Nair, Medical Superintendent, Bapu Nature Cure Hospital and Yogashram. The hospital’spatronage level has been boosted up with the recognition of the hospital by CGHS, recently. The employees of the Central and Delhi governments can avail their reimbursement facilities from Bapu Nature Cure Hospital and Yogashram. Diseases such as obesity, sinusitis, bronchial asthma, hypertension, diabetes, arthritis and others are treated in the hospital; the success stories are many. Reason being that the hospital extends the vast range of treatment techniques. Methods like scientific body massage, Japanese massage, Kerala Ayurvedic treatment, mud packs, enema, hot fomentation, sauna bath, yogic kriyas, acupuncture and acupressure are worth mentioning. Bapu Nature Cure Hospital and Yogashram, bearing an ISO certificate, has also spread its wings to the other areas related to healthcare education. An academy is run to train students for graduate and postgraduate courses in naturopathy and yoga and graduate and diploma courses in physiotherapy. Naturopathy, a monthly magazine, is being published since 1991 to promote health awareness and nature cure. The event management section of the hospital organises nature cure and yoga camps at different places to create awareness of naturopathy and health cure. Campaigns on AIDS, population control and women empowerment are a few examples.
