The Sahsarkaryavah of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Madan Das has wished the new Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh all the best and has hoped that he would rise to the expectations of his countrymen. Talking to Organiser in New Delhi, Shri Madan Das welcomed Dr Singh'sstatement to bring in economic reforms with a human face.

?The new Prime Minister has said that he would continue with the policies of the previous government regarding the building of infrastructure, peace with neighbouring countries and creation of internal peace. He has also said that he would not discriminate or work against anybody with any vengeance. We hope that they will do all to serve this country and we wish them all the best,? said the RSS Sahsarkaryavah.

About Smt. Sonia Gandhi'sforeign origin issue that rocked the country after the election results and when she made all efforts to become Prime Minister, Shri Madan Das said that the issue was raised by the BJP during election time also. ?Even the common Indian citizen who has nothing to do with party politics was really upset on a foreigner becoming our Prime Minister or holding the highest post in the country. It was a matter of concern. But somehow it has been resolved by transferring the post to Dr Manmohan Singh,? he observed.

On the differences emerging in the Congress-led alliance over portfolio distribution and also with some constituent groups refusing to share power, Shri Madan Das said that such a problem can occur in any alliance. Since the Congress does not have the requisite numbers as the BJP had, the major alliance partners would certainly expect an equal share in the govern-ment. ?But how they decide to resolve the problem is their internal matter, we have nothing to say about it,? he added.
