A Hindu Sammelan was organised at Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar auditorium in Port Blair to celebrate the golden jubilee of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram. Inaugurating the Sammelan Krishna Motlag, Akhil Bharatiya Pracharak Pramukh of RSS, said that only a united society could face the challenges. He praised the activities of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram in the region and their efforts to bring people into the mainstream.
Speaking on the occasion Swami Asimanand emphasised the need to shun the Western mentality to make the Hindu society secure. He stressed that anti-conversion laws should be passed in every state. Earlier, Jagdev Oraon, Kalyan Ashram president, spoke of the contribution of Kalyan Ashram, which began with nine children in 1952 from Jaspur Nagar of Chhattisgarh and had now spread to over 50,000 villages and more than 12 lakh families of the country.
