? Pramod Mahajan
General Secretary, BJP

What would be BJP'sstrategy for UP in the forthcoming elections?

It is a national election. There is no question of a separate agenda for UP. The BJP would highlight Atal Behari Vajpayee'sleadership and the performance of the NDA government. But the BJP in UP can highlight some additional issues if it wants.

On what basis would the BJP distribute its tickets?

Of course, the winning prospects and capabilities of the candidate would be taken into consideration.

How would the BJP attract the SP and BSP voters to reach the target of winning 60 Lok Sabha seats in the state?

I don'tthink the SP and the BSP would be successful in getting a major vote share in Parliament elections this time.

How do you measure the impact of the entry of Mrs Priyanka and her brother?

I don'tmeasure individuals in politics.

How do you react to the Mulayam's?Maulana? policy?

It really shows the presence of perverted secularism in politics. Muslims don'tneed political holidays; instead, they require more educational facilities and better economic conditions.

The Ram Temple issue is not on the priority list of the BJP. Comment.

The Ram Temple is an important issue for the country; it is, however, not a political or electoral issue.
