Kaushlendraji is no more

Veteran Sangh Pracharak and office secretary of Dr Hedgewar Bhavan, the Central RSS office in Nagpur, Kaushlendraji passed away in Mumbai on January 24. He was 78. He was cremated on the same day in Mumbai. His younger brother Manmohan Kumar performed the last rites.

Akhil Bharatiya Sah Vyavastha Pramukh, Balaji Tripathi, Konkan Prant Pracharak Jayantrao Sahastrabuddhe, Sah Prant Karyavah Dilip Pai, senior Pracharak Dr Madhavrao Paralkar and Tatyarao Inamdar along with hundreds of local Swayamsevaks attended the funeral.

Kaushlendraji was suffering from kneeache for the last few years and for its treatment he went to Mumbai on January 9 where he was operated on January 14. After about two and a half hours of operation suddenly his condition started deteriorating. He was immediately rushed to Intensive Care Unit (ICU). His lungs stopped working on January 14. He was shifted to Lilawathi Hospital on January 16 where even after six dialysis his condition did not improve. Finally he breathed his last on January 24.

Sarsanghchalak Shri K.S. Sudarshan, Sahsarkaryavah Madandas, Shrikant Joshi, Shankarrao Tatvavadi and Shri Ashokrao Kukare visited the hospital to see Kaushlendraji.

Born on January 2, 1927 in Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, Kaushlendraji did BSc from Lucknow University. A Sangh Swayamsevak since his school days, he became a Pracharak in 1946. After holding different responsibilities in Saharanpur, Aligarh, Banda, Lucknow, Faizabad and Kanpur, he became Sah Prant Pracharak of Kashi in 1993 and after one year he was given the responsibility of Prant Sampark Pramukh. Later he was given the responsibility of office secretary of the Nagpur Central office in 1997. He also compiled the book Avishmerniya Poojniya Shri Guruji in 1997 and another book RSS on National Scenario.

In his tributes the Sarsanghchalak Shri KS. Sudarshan described Kaushlendraji as a self-effacing personality who gave the message that like the stone embedded in a strong national foundation, we should remain eqnanimous both pleasure and pain. The Sarsanghchalak pointed out that Kaushlendraji, since the time of Rajju Bhaiya, was handling the correspondence of the Sarsanghchalak and was also writing the minutes of the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha and the Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal.
