The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has announced a list of 13 probable candidates for the upcoming Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections. The names are: Alok Attri, Ayushi Sharma, Ishu Maurya, Krishna Yadav, Lakshya Raj Singh, Nitin Tanwar, Priyanshu Mahamana, Riya Chhawri, Riya Malik, Sunny Dedha, Tanya Mavi, Varun Yadav, and Yash Dabas.
All 13 candidates will begin campaigning from September 1 across different campuses, reaching out to students and engaging with them directly. The list comprises activists who have remained consistently active among students, demonstrated strong organisational capabilities, and remained committed to raising and addressing issues concerning student welfare.
The upcoming Delhi University Students’ Union elections will be held on September 18, with the counting of votes scheduled for September 19. Candidates are required to file their nominations by 10 September, while 11 September at 12 noon is the last date for withdrawal of nominations.
Beginning tomorrow, all probable candidates will visit 47 colleges and 5 departments of the University of Delhi to directly interact with students and understand their expectations, aspirations, and suggestions.
These inputs will be incorporated by ABVP into its manifesto for the upcoming students’ union elections. Following the week-long pre-campaigning exercise, ABVP’s Election Committee will officially announce its candidates for the four posts of the Central Panel on 11 September.
ABVP Delhi State Secretary Sarthak Sharma said, “Through the pre-campaign, ABVP activists will work to take the organisation’s year-round activities and initiatives to students. During its previous tenure, the ABVP-led DUSU undertook several initiatives in the interest of students, including the Great DUSU Internship, a centralised hostel system, establishment of Pink Booths for women’s safety, installation of CCTV cameras, and several other initiatives. We are confident that this time, the students of Delhi University will give ABVP a decisive 4-0 victory and establish a strong and effective students’ union.”
