New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will publish the UGC NET June 2026 provisional answer key this week. As per the notification issued, along with UGC-NET, the provisional answer keys of CSIR-NET and ICAR AIEEA (PG) & AICE (PhD) 2026 examinations will also be made available for candidates. Since the exact release date is unavailable, candidates are advised to keep checking the official website for it. The UGC NET 2026 provisional answer key will be available only in online mode. The provisional answer key is important because it also gives candidates an opportunity to raise objections before NTA prepares the final answer key and result.

How to Raise Challenges in UGC NET Answer Key 2026
Candidates who are not satisfied with any answer in the provisional key will be able to challenge the UGC NET answer key during the objection window notified by NTA. The detailed procedure, challenge dates, applicable fee and other instructions will be announced along with the provisional answer key.
- Visit the official UGC NET website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
- Click on the Answer Key Challenge link and login using your registered credentials
- Select the question ID you want to challenge and choose the answer option you believe is correct and click on “Save Your Claims”
- Upload the relevant supporting documents as a single PDF file
- Click on “Save Your Claims & Pay Fee”
- Pay the prescribed challenge fee per question through the available online payment mode
What Happens After UGC NET Answer Key Challenge?
Once the UGC NET answer key challenge window is closed, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will review and examine the objections that are submitted by candidates. On the basis of this, NTA will prepare the UGC NET final answer key 2026.
The UGC NET result 2026 will subsequently be prepared on the basis of the final answer key. Candidates should therefore remember that the UGC NET provisional answer key is not the final basis for calculating their official scores.
If NTA accepts an objection, the concerned answer may be corrected or revised in the UGC NET final answer key before the result is declared. Candidates should wait for the final answer key and official result rather than relying solely on their scores calculated from the provisional key.
