Rashtra Sevika Samiti lauds Captain Smit Machchhar’s valour when there was a terror attack on Flydubai Aircraft
NEW DELHI: The Rashtra Sevika Samiti has praised Indian pilot Smit Machchhar for his courage and commitment to duty after he ensured passengers’ safety aboard a Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv despite a co-pilot attack. The Samiti described his bravery as a living example of Indian sanskars, Dharma and the values of humanity.
In its statement, the Rashtra Sevika Samiti highlighted Captain Smit’s courage, stating that his sanskars manifested themselves through his actions during the crisis. The Samiti said that the incident should not be viewed merely as an act of bravery but as an example of a sense of duty towards humanity.
Referring to the Sanskrit phrase “Shivo Bhutva Shivam Yajet” (Become Shiva to worship Shiva), the Samiti drew a parallel between Lord Shiva consuming poison to protect the universe and Captain Machar fulfilling his duty to save 174 passengers despite being seriously injured.
The statement highlighted that Captain Smit’s actions reflected the fundamental spirit of Hindu culture and the principle of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (The world is one family), emphasising respect for human life.
“Dharma is meant for protection,” the Samiti stated, adding that standing up for others in times of crisis is the practical expression of Dharma.
The Rashtra Sevika Samiti praised Captain Smit for his courage and dedication to duty and prayed for his speedy and complete recovery.
