Dr Mohan Bhagwat's event in US reflects Bharatiya ethos; it is organised in spirit of open dialogue & mutual respect: Sunil Ambekar
NEW DELHI: RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwa’s visit to the United States will include the Universal Oneness Celebration in New York, an interfaith gathering that will bring together people from different religions and cultures.
“The Universal Oneness Celebration in New York exemplifies an interfaith gathering where RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat ji will communicate with a diverse, multicultural, and multi-faith audience. Organized in the spirit of open dialogue and mutual respect, the event reflects Bharatiya ethos which is fundamentally inclusive and welcoming to all”, wrote Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar on X.
“This initiative is in line with longstanding tradition of engagement by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) with varied communities across India and the world fostering understanding and shared purpose”, he further wrote.
“We invite anyone interested in learning more about the RSS vision and philosophy to participate in these open forums of dialogue”, he wrote on X.
Dr Mohan Bhagwat arrived in New York on Tuesday on the first leg of his three-nation global outreach tour to the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom at the invitation of overseas local organisations as part of its centenary year celebrations.
Upon his arrival, he received a cordial welcome with a ’tilak’.
The visit coincides with the RSS’s centenary year, during which Dr Bhagwat is expected to interact with members of the Indian diaspora and representatives of local organisations.
Dr Bhagwat will host one of the largest and most diverse community gatherings, the ‘Universal Oneness Celebrations,’ at Madison Square Garden in New York City on August 27. The event is organised by American Hindus for Engagement and Dialogue (AHEAD) forum. Bhagwat’s address at the event is expected to draw significant national and international interest.
The event will mark the traditional observance of the Hindu festival Raksha Bandhan with a modern message centred on unity, civic duty, and global harmony.
Organisers said that the gathering will have cultural performances coinciding with the theme of the day. Prominent faith-based speakers will also grace the occasion.
Earlier, RSS Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar, in a post on X, said Dr Bhagwat will visit the US, Canada and the UK from August 25 at the invitation of overseas local associations and organisations.
