NEET UG 2026 Re-Test: NTA moves Prayagraj centre, launches WhatsApp alerts and anti-fraud advisory

The NTA has issued fresh admit cards to all affected NEET 2026 exam candidates. However, candidates carrying NEET admit cards mentioning the old centre will also be permitted to take the examination at the revised venue after due verification. It has also launched official WhatsApp updates and urged candidates to not fall prey to fake messages, scams and unofficial exam-related communications

NTA Changes Prayagraj Exam Venue Ahead of NEET UG 2026 Re-Test, Releases New Admit Cards

NEW DELHI: Just two days before the NEET UG 2026 re-test, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has shifted the examination venue for a section of candidates in Prayagraj. The issue cited is logistical and infrastructural. NTA has directed the affected students to appear at a newly designated centre on June 21 and has urged them to take note of the revised arrangements to avoid any last-minute confusion.

According to an official notification, candidates who were earlier allotted the Harivansh Rai Bachchan Cultural Centre at the University of Allahabad will now take the examination at the Department of Medieval and Modern History, Senate House Campus, University of Allahabad. The new venue is situated within the university campus and is expected to provide easier access for candidates already familiar with the location.

The decision to change the centre was taken after recommendations from the District Level Committee and the local administration. It was reported that ongoing construction activities, power supply issues, and other operational challenges at the previously designated venue can affect the smooth conduct of the examination. Thus, to prevent disruptions on exam day, it has been decided to relocate the centre.

The change applies only to candidates who were previously allotted the Harivansh Rai Bachchan Cultural Centre as their examination venue. Candidates allotted to other examination centres in Prayagraj or elsewhere will continue to appear at their previously assigned venues. The NTA has advised students to carefully verify their updated examination details and make travel arrangements accordingly. Candidates have also been encouraged to visit the new venue in advance, if possible, to familiarise themselves with the location. To facilitate the transition, the NTA has issued fresh admit cards for all affected candidates. These can be downloaded through the official NEET website using candidates’ login credentials.

In addition to the venue update, the NTA has begun sending reminder messages through SMS, email and WhatsApp to ensure that candidates receive important examination-related information directly. This will reduce confusion and help students access authentic updates ahead of the examination.

It is clarified that those who have already downloaded their Admit Cards for the 21st June NEET UG Examination need not do it again. The SMS/Email/WhatsApp messages are primarily for those students who are yet to download their new Admit Cards. The 3rd May Admit Cards won't be…

According to the advisory, official WhatsApp communication will be sent only through the NTA’s verified account. Candidates have been advised to look for the blue verification tick and the official display name before trusting any message claiming to represent the agency.

Students have been advised not to fall for scam messages or websites promising access to question papers, answer keys, or other unauthorised examination material. They should note that NTA never requests payments through links or QR codes and never asks candidates to share personal information, passwords, or one-time passwords (OTPs).

📢 NEET (UG) 2026 — Official WhatsApp Updates

NTA is now sending exam updates & centre information to candidates directly on WhatsApp for the re-examination on Sunday, 21 June 2026.

Candidates have also been advised to download their admit cards only from the official NEET portal and avoid clicking on links received through unofficial sources. NTA informed the admit card issued for the June 21 re-examination is the valid document for entry into the examination centre. To curb misinformation and fraud, candidates have been advised to report any suspicious messages impersonating the NTA through the official reporting channel. Victims of financial fraud have been advised to immediately contact the national cybercrime helpline.
