Rajsamand (Rajasthan): Vishva Hindu Parishad International President and senior advocate Alok Kumar on June 2, 2026 expressed deep concern and anger over several violent incidents in recent years targeting the Hindu community, including the brutal killing of minor Hindu youth Surya Chauhan in Ghaziabad in the name of Bakrid sacrifice. He said that incidents such as those in Ghaziabad, Delhi, and Udaipur are not merely the result of ordinary criminal tendencies but represent the manifestation of a jihadi extremist mindset that reflects hatred and violent attitudes towards Hindus. He said that governments, administrations, and responsible members of society must work together to completely eliminate this mentality.
Alok Kumar stated that the brutal murder of 17-year-old Hindu youth Surya Chauhan in the Khoda area of Ghaziabad on May 28, 2026, after allegedly being called by a friend on the occasion of Bakrid, the killing of Tarun in Uttam Nagar, Delhi, during Holi on March 4, 2026, the life-threatening attack on student Devaraj inside a school campus in Udaipur, and the murder of Umesh Kolhe in Maharashtra are not isolated crimes. According to him, a common pattern is visible in these incidents’ hostility, intolerance, and open violence based on religious identity.
He said that if a young man is killed merely because he is a Hindu, or if extremism and violence enter friendships and even sacred spaces such as schools among children, it becomes a matter of concern for the entire society. Such developments, he said, indicate that the poison of jihadi extremist thinking is reaching various levels of society.
Alok Kumar stated that it must be understood that there can be no place in the modern world for concepts of violence, terrorism, and jihadi extremism. He added that treating such serious incidents merely as law-and-order issues would be inadequate. According to him, these developments pose a grave threat to world peace and social order.
He further said that those directly responsible for committing such heinous acts are guilty, but equally responsible are those who provide ideological support to them, conceal their crimes, or maintain silence for convenience. He said, society must ask why the voices of so-called secular groups, human rights activists, and several political parties often fall silent when the victim belongs to the Hindu community. Such selective silence, he argued, is not only a sign of moral bankruptcy but also serves to encourage extremism.
He also urged the entire society, religious leaders, social organisations, and governments to openly and fearlessly oppose such violent mindsets. Any leniency towards extremism, he warned, could lead to even greater tragedies in the future.
Alok Kumar also called upon the Hindu community to remain organised, vigilant, and capable of self-defence. He said that peace and harmony can be protected only when society holds accountable not just those who commit violence, but also those who support them or remain silent spectators.
He also urged the Rajasthan Government to implement the Uniform Civil Code in the state within this year. He further called upon the Central Government to amend its earlier Presidential Order and deprive converted Scheduled Tribe individuals of all benefits and rights available under Scheduled Tribe status.
