New Delhi: As the country stands at the brink of the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor and India’s decisive victory against Pakistan and its state-sponsored terrorism, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on May 29, released a commemorative book on Operation Sindoor. The publication is not just a compilation of historical facts pertaining to the military operation. But, it scripts the incredible saga, valour, bravery and determination of the Indian soldiers that helped India to seal a decisive strategic victory against the enemy camp. The book also has testimonials and first-hand experiences of the Armed forces personnel.
The book contains personal narratives from 100 armed forces personnel who formed the key pillars of Operation Sindoor. The men who crossed borders hit the terror targets, rattled Pakistan and consolidated India’s national security architecture and shared their experiences from the military adventure. The book thus offers ground perspectives and speaks through the lens of the men from the Indian Army, Navy and the Airforce, thus renders strong optics regarding Pakistan’s terror motives and India’s relentless fight against terrorism.
Operation Sindoor was an unprecedented success where India compelled Pakistan to seek a ceasefire under four days. It was different from all other wars that India has fought so far.

As a decisive answer to the Pahalgam terror attack, during Operation Sindoor, Indian Armed Forces destroyed 9 terror bases in Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir(PoJK) and in mainland Pakistan. These terror hubs in Pakistan Punjab, Muridke, Lahore etc. were affiliated to notorious terror outfits such as Lashkar-e-Taiba(LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammad(JeM). India unequivocally destroyed these terror strongholds, thus destroying the masterminds behind Islamabad’s atrocities against India.
Post the release of the book, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh called Operation Sindoor as a major success which demonstrated India’s military preparedness and operational capabilities. It represented the strategic synergy among the Indian Armed Forces. In this direction, the latest publication on Operation Sindoor is a tribute to the Indian Armed Forces who played a pivotal role in defending India’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and national security. The book helps the people of the country understand the courage and sacrifices of the Armed personnel, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reiterated.
“Operation Sindoor was an unprecedented success where India compelled Pakistan to seek a ceasefire within four days. It was different from all other wars that India has fought so far”, the Defence Minister wrote on his X social media platform. Beyond presenting the personal insights of the soldiers during the military operation, the book also illustrates the human dimension of modern warfare where leadership, determination, courage, valour, ability to make swift and timely decisions under pressure, capability of precision attack are vital. Thus, reading the book and grasping these aspects will inspire and motivate the citizens to strive towards nation-building, the Defence Minister added.
“Commitment translates strategy into success. “It is a tribute to those who executed this operation and gives us a connection with the devotion and resilience of our soldiers. The citizens need to draw inspiration from this book and be citizens worthy of the tremendous cost the nation pays to ensure security and maintain sovereignty”, said Rajnath Singh while explaining the human costs incurred in defending the sovereignty of the nation.
According to the statement by the Defence Ministry the accounts span across the three Services as well as Headquarters, Integrated Defence Staff and include combat aviators, naval watchkeepers, surface-to-air missile crews, special forces operators, signallers, logisticians, medical officers & the personnel of the joint and integrated organisations who were positioned along LoC and knit the operation together.
