Bareilly: In Uttar Pradesh, a 40-year-old MBBS doctor has accused two gym trainers, Akram Beg and Alam Beg, of drugging, sexually assaulting, and blackmailing her over an extended period. The incident falls under the Kotwali police station area.

According to the complaint, the woman had been attending a local gym since 2024. She alleged that the accused gave her a pre-workout drink under the pretext of aiding weight loss, which rendered her unconscious. She stated that she was then taken to a private room inside the gym, where she was sexually assaulted. The accused allegedly recorded the act using hidden cameras.

The victim further alleged that the accused used these recordings to repeatedly blackmail her, demanding large sums of money. In April 2026, they reportedly demanded Rs 10 lakh and later Rs 50 lakh, threatening to release the videos on social media. She said she paid Rs 80,000 out of fear but continued to face threats and pressure, including being asked to sell property.

Following her complaint, Bareilly Police registered a case and formed multiple teams to investigate. Akram Beg was arrested on May 5, 2026, and his brother Alam Beg was subsequently apprehended. Police said they recovered pen drives containing objectionable videos, mobile phones, cash, and suspected performance-enhancing substances during the operation.

According to police officials, the accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) related to sexual assault, criminal intimidation, and extortion. Authorities also stated that evidence includes digital recordings and audio conversations allegedly involving demands for money.

During interrogation, investigators are examining whether similar methods were used against other women who attended the gym. One of the accused is reported to have prior cases registered against him. Police have stated that further investigation is ongoing, and appropriate legal action will be taken based on the findings.
