Two-day ‘Matru Sanskar Samagam’, aimed at reconnecting women with cultural roots, concludes in Hyderabad

The two-day ‘Matru Sanskar Samagam’ at Kanha Shantivan in Hyderabad concluded with vibrant cultural performances, spiritual gatherings, and discussions emphasising Indian values and the vital role of mothers in shaping society.

Hyderabad: The two-day ‘Matru Sanskar Samagam’, organised under the aegis of Vishwa Mangalya Vedika Telangana, concluded on a grand note at Kanha Shanti Van on April 5. The event, centred on cultural values and the responsibilities of motherhood, witnessed enthusiastic participation and vibrant cultural showcases.

The second day of the mega event was inaugurated by Heartfulness founder Kamlesh Patel (Daaji), along with Srinaath Peethadheeshwar Anant Shri Vibhushit Acharya Swami Shri Jitendranath Ji Maharaj, Rekha Khandelwal, and Shruti. During the programme, Udaya Sri’s rendition of the patriotic song “Bharat Mata Pilustundi” (Vande Mataram thematic song) moved the audience and received wide appreciation, emerging as a highlight of the event.

The day featured a grand ‘Parikrama’ (procession/rally), cultural performances, and inspirational sessions that energised participants, especially women. The event concluded successfully with a closing ceremony.

Spiritual Start and Cultural Procession

Women participated with traditional Bathukamma displays symbolising Telangana culture, alongside captivating Dandiya and Garba performances. A team from Washim, Maharashtra, also impressed the audience with a demonstration of Shivkalin martial arts from the era of Chhatrapati Shivaji.

Seminars on Indian Lifestyle and Role of Mothers

A seminar was held focused on Indian lifestyle, culture, and the role of mothers. Asha Tai and Shilpa Tai spoke on “Holistic Cultural Indian Lifestyle,” explaining the scientific and cultural significance embedded in traditional Indian practices.

‘Matru Sanskar Samagam’,

In another key session, Sujata Akka and Gayatri Lohakare addressed the theme “Need for Mothers’ Organisation,” highlighting the crucial role of mothers in societal development and strengthening family values. The session was coordinated by Bharati.

On the first day, Dr Sangeeta Reddy, representative of Apollo Hospitals, attended the programme as the chief guest and delivered the inaugural address.

RSS Telagnana Karyavah Kacham Ramesh and entrepreneur Bhagwati Baldawa attended as special guests, while Dr Vrushali Joshi, Rekha Khandelwal, and Prashant participated as distinguished guests. Bhagyanagar Vishwa Mangalya Sabha President B. Shruti led the programme.

A session featured an in-depth discussion on the theme ‘Yugaanukoola Matrutvam’ (Contextual Motherhood for the Present Era) was held. During this seminar, key speaker Vrushali, along with other speakers Anuradha and Dr Sahiti, provided guidance on parenting approaches that mothers should adopt in tune with changing modern times.

Later in the afternoon, RSS Prant Pracharak Lingam Sridhar delivered an inspiring address on ‘Panch Parivartan’ (five key transformations needed in society), emphasising the direction for social change.

A special highlight of the Samagam was the ‘Sapta Matrika Samman’ (felicitation ceremony), where seven exemplary mothers who have set benchmarks in society were honoured. Before each felicitation, their life journeys and achievements were showcased through Artificial Intelligence (AI)-generated videos, which captivated the audience.

The honours were presented by dignitaries including Nalini, Bhagwati, Shruti, and G. Anantha Lakshmi. Subsequently, Bhagwati Baldawa and G. Anantha Lakshmi delivered speeches that inspired the gathering.

Gayatri Lomte presented a comprehensive review of the two-day event, while Nanda Tai delivered the vote of thanks and introduced the organising team behind the large-scale programme.
