GUWAHATI: I have broken the hands, legs and bones of illegal Bangladeshi settlers in Assam and in next five years I will break their spine, said Assam CM and senior BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma. Speaking to reporters in an election rally in Bihpuria CM Sarma said we will form the next government in Assam with a record number of seats. Earlier he said that Congress party and Gaurav Gogoi can form their government in Pakistan, not in Assam.

On March 26, Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi in a election rally in minority dominated Mondia area declared that when they form the government in Assam, they will rename the Barpeta Medical College Hospital as Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College. Reacting to that CM Sarma said that Gaurav Gogoi can’t rename the Medical College even if he was reborn 7 times.

BJP restores Assam’s eternal Sanatan essence

“The great saint Srimanta Sankardev, the life-founder of the Assamese nation.”Srimanta Sankardeva, had, through his unparalleled contributions, laid the foundation of an exquisitely harmonious and culturally resplendent Assamese nation. Carrying forward the luminous ideals of the revered Guru, the Government of Assam has manifested a grand tribute in the form of the Srimanta Sankardeva Abirbhav Kshetra, a monumental embodiment of his eternal philosophy. Under the visionary and dynamic leadership of Chief Minister  Himanta Biswa Sarma, this magnificent cultural edifice has been developed over nearly 200 bighas of land, with an investment of Rs 217 crores.

This state-of-the-art cultural complex houses an imposing Guru Asana, alongside rich repositories reflecting the life, philosophy, and creative genius of the great saint. Further adorned with expansive water bodies, exquisitely landscaped gardens, and modern guest facilities, it has now emerged as a premier epicentre of cultural tourism. In a press communiqué issued today from the State BJP asserted that the sacred land of Bordowa, the birthplace of the Guru, had for decades remained under illegal encroachment by dubious elements, while the Congress regime chose to remain willfully blind, indulging in calculated indifference. In essence, the Congress government’s policy trajectory has consistently been inimical to the interests of the indigenous people.

It was only in 2016, when the BJP-led NDA Government assumed power with its solemn pledge to safeguard “Jati, Mati, Bheti” (identity, land, and roots), that decisive steps were undertaken to reclaim the encroached lands of Bordowa and initiate this grand cultural renaissance project. Bharali, launching a scathing critique of the Congress, stated that the very Assam which was once illuminated by the spiritual guidance of Srimanta Sankardeva and Madhavdeva, was, in later years under Congress rule, tragically reduced into a grazing ground for questionable citizenship elements.

It was during the Congress era that indigenous Assamese populations were rendered minorities in as many as 37 Legislative Assembly constituencies. In stark contrast, since 2016, the BJP-led NDA Government has relentlessly pursued the mission of reclaiming satra lands, forest reserves, and government properties from encroachment, thereby re-establishing the rightful primacy of the indigenous people. Beyond reclaiming Bordowa and constructing the Abirbhav Kshetra, the government has also extended financial assistance under the Asom Darshan Scheme for the beautification and preservation of numerous Namghars and temples across the state.

Furthermore, landmark initiatives such as the Madhavdeva Kalakshetra at Bihpuria, the Martyrs’ Memorial of the Assam Movement at Baragaon, Guwahati, the Freedom Fighters’ Park at Jorhat, and the restoration of the historic Rang Ghar in Sivasagar stand as shining testaments to the government’s unwavering commitment to re-establish Assam’s cultural grandeur on the global stage. Notably, the government has also undertaken commendable efforts to bring back the revered Vrindavani Vastra to Assam, enabling the people to reconnect with their glorious civilizational heritage.
