Thane: The 350th Shaheedi Samagam of “Hind Di Chadar” Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji will be at Kharghar in Navi Mumbai on February 28 and March 1. Additional District Collector Harishchandra Patil has directed that the event be widely publicised through various outreach activities.
A review meeting was held in this regard. Resident Deputy Collector Dr Sandeep Mane, Tehsildars Sachin Chaudhar, Revan Lembhe, Sandeep Thorat, District Information and Science Officer Ghanshyam Mehta, officials from the Education Department and Municipal Corporation were present, while District Information Officer Manoj Sanap joined through video conferencing.
Additional District Collector Patil instructed that the Zilla Parishad Education Officer should organise essay and elocution competitions in schools. Gram Panchayats and municipal bodies should conduct cleanliness drives. Relevant devotional songs related to the event should be played over loudspeakers in Gram Panchayats, and the program should also be promoted in cinema halls through these songs. Public awareness should be created through Prabhat Pheris (morning processions). The Health Department has been directed to organise health check-up camps in schools. He further stated that all departments should prepare a proper action plan for the publicity of the 350th Shaheedi Samagam of “Hind Di Chadar” Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, initiate the activities promptly, and submit a compliance report.
