Pakistan and its fantasy towards capturing Kashmir is an irrational yet eternal saga. In the latest episode, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has exclaimed that his country will capture Kashmir. Addressing a gathering in Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir(PoJK), Shehbaz Sharif asserted that “Kashmir will become a part of Pakistan”. He was speaking at the Muzaffarabad Assembly in PoJK on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day observed across Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also exclaimed that Pakistan has “unwavering support” for the people of Kashmir. “The solution to the Jammu & Kashmir dispute is to honour the wishes of the people of Kashmir and the implementation of the UNSC’s resolutions. I have come to stand in solidarity with our brothers in Kashmir on behalf of the Pakistani people and the Pakistani leadership”, Shehbaz Sharif further added.
Pakistan: A synonym for hypocrisy and fallacy
In the biggest hypocrisy, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also reiterated the events of Operation Sindoor and alleged that “India is intensifying terrorism” through its proxies. This statement by the Pakistan Prime Minister exposes the irony of Islamabad who is infamous across the globe as a state-sponsor of terrorism. Just days ago, Indian Army encountered and eliminated terrorists in Udhampur and Kishtawar districts of Kashmir, who were affiliated to Jaish-e-Mohammad(JeM) terror outfits who have roots in Pakistan.
In another fallacy and irrational argument, Shehbaz Sharif drew a parallel between Kashmir and Palestine. He also mentioned many anti-national figures in India who are a threat to the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Shehbaz Sharif quoted these figures as a help to capture Kashmir. He referred to Yasin Malik Burhan Wani, Syed Ali Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. Shehbaz Sharif’s reference to these anti-India individuals and Kashmiri separatists reflects his true agenda which is a threat to India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Moreover, Kashmir is an integral part of the Union of India. The abolition of Article 370 and redefining Jammu & Kashmir as the Union Territory of India has further consolidated this fact about the eternal affiliation of the region to India. Thus, the illicit dream of Islamabad towards Kashmir is an unrealistic dream. Jammu & Kashmir, being an integral part of India is infact a geopolitical reality. During Operation Sindoor as well, India has given a befitting reply to Pakistan and its terror motives by successfully defending teh national security and territorial integrit and by carving a clear strategic edge against enemy threats.
On the other hand, Pakistan is entangled in a severe security and law & order crisis. The country is disgruntled with political and economic fissures. Protests and civilian eruption are a common scenario on the streets of Pakistan. Regions such as Balochistan, Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir are posing a major challenge to the political and military orientation of Pakistan. People are utterly dissatisfied with Islamabad. When the provinces that are hitherto part of Pakistan are aiming to disintegrate from Islamabad and the autocracy is suffering due to lack of political stability and control, the dream of capturing Kashmir, an Indian territory will never turn into reality. It is vital that Pakistan first protects its domestic stability before illicitly aspiring for Kashmir.
