PUNE: Society today looks at the Sangh with a sense of positivity and trust, said Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat at the inauguration of the updated website of Samarth Bharat at the Motibag office.

He noted that this is both an opportunity and a responsibility for the organisation.

Dr Bhagwat emphasised that well-planned initiatives like Samarth Bharat must be launched with proper foresight and structured planning.

He observed that while working with the Sangh, citizens experience a sense of security and confidence. Given the time constraints, he stressed the need to accelerate social initiatives and expand their reach. He highlighted that using technology to address local-level challenges would be crucial and expressed confidence that the Samarth Bharat website would be an effective tool in this regard.

Samarth Bharat is a social enterprise working towards strengthening India by encouraging active citizen participation in social initiatives. Its core objective is to connect citizens, volunteers, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and corporate institutions across various sectors such as healthcare, education, empowerment, sustainable development, and community development.

Pune Mahanagar Sanghchalak Ravindra Vanjarwadkar was also present on the occasion. Launched in 2017, Samarth Bharat is a free platform that aims to bridge the gap between citizens, NGOs, and corporate entities. Connecting individuals with meaningful social initiatives brings together volunteer organisations, volunteer networks, and CSR-driven companies on a common platform.

To date, Samarth Bharat has connected over 7,500 swayamsevaks with various voluntary organisations. It has played a catalytic role in several impactful initiatives, including the 2018 Clean River Campaign, COVID-19 relief efforts, the collection of over 300,000 blood units, the distribution of more than 5.1 million meals, and over 100,000 medical check-ups. The platform has supported organisations such as Seva Bharati, PSVP, Gram Vikas, Poornam Ecovision, Swaroop Vardhini, Jan Kalyan Blood Centre, Seva Arogya, Swanand Jan Kalyan, Ek Kshan Anandacha, among many others.

Through collaborative efforts, Samarth Bharat empowers communities by connecting corporate entities with NGOs at no cost, ensuring that CSR investments reach communities based on their real needs. On this occasion, Samarth Bharat representatives Mangesh Ghatpande, Vinod Khare, and Adhiraj Gadgil were also present.
