Vaishno Devi Yatra Suspended: Vaishno Devi Yatra Suspended: As heavy rains and snowfall continue in Jammu and Kashmir, the pilgrimage to the holy Mata Vaishno Devi temple in Katra has been temporarily suspended due to security reasons. According to the authorities, the step was also taken as a precautionary measure. The weather in Jammu and Kashmir has changed rapidly. Katra and the surrounding areas are experiencing the first rains and snowfall of the season. This forced the authorities to suspend the pilgrimage due to security concerns. The rains and snowfall are affecting daily life, and authorities have had to take precautionary measures.

Devotees stopped at Katra

Devotees of Mata Rani have been stopped in Katra due to security reasons. According to an NDTV report, pilgrims have been asked to stay in Katra until further notice. No pilgrim will be allowed to proceed from the base camp towards the temple until further orders. The administration stated that the safety of the pilgrims is paramount. They said the pilgrimage will resume smoothly as soon as the weather clears.

Mata Vaishno Devi shrine is covered in Snow

The famous Shri Mata Vaishno Devi temple, located on the Trikuta hills, is covered in fresh snow. This has transformed the steep climbing routes and surrounding mountains into a serene winter landscape. Snowfall began in the higher reaches on Thursday evening and continued on Friday. While this created beautiful scenery, it also made conditions dangerous for trekkers.
