Guwahati: In a highly provocative speech against India, a former Bangladeshi army officer and senior BNP leader sparks controversy by urging unity to sever Northeast India from the Indian Union. The fiery hate speech marks as one of the strongest public challenges to India’s territorial integrity from across the border in recent times, escalating tensions in an already sensitive region.
During a political discussion in Bangladesh capital Dhaka, pro-Jamaat former army officer Col Abdul Haque calls for national unity of the anti-India forces in the country to capture Northeast states. He said, “ until we capture and create 7 separate nations in India’s Northeast, Bangladesh is not safe. Our people are sitting there to create separate nations in India’s Northeast, but so far we are not being able to help them. This is not a secret now, I am saying it publicly.” Col (Rtd) Haque further said, India is planning to capture our country. So we must create a separate nation in India’s Northeast and for that we need to give military training to our youth.
The radical former army officer further said that India is eying the hill in the Chittagong area of Bangladesh and aiming to capture it, so that they can gradually capture other areas of the country. “They created political parties in Bangladesh to run their agenda, not only that they did put their men in the Bangladesh army, police and civil service to weaken the country”, he said. The pro-Pakistan leader further said, “we need to be united against India. Only the Bangladesh army can’t save the country. We need to train our youth and the military training of youth has already been started. This is for the survival of our country. We need to create our new neighborhood”.
Meanwhile top sources in Bangladesh have claimed that Pakistani intelligence agency ISI is creating new terror groups in Bangladesh composed of displaced Rohingyas and stranded Pakistanis. These groups include suicude squads which will be utilised against India in the future. Earlier as well, many top army officials in Bangladesh made controversial statements on Northeast India. Recently Bangladesh interim head Muhammed Yunus gifted a very controversial map of the country which includes the whole Northeast India to Pakistan army General Sahir Shamshad Mirza. Though India has not officially reacted on it, public sentiment in the Northeast is growing against the repeated attempts by Bangladesh to attack on the territorial integrity and sovereignty of India.
