Faridabad’s Al-Falah University is under investigation by security agencies after its possible link to the Delhi blast case surfaced. A former nursing staff member at the university’s medical college and hospital has alleged that between 100 and 150 fake patient files were created there every day.
According to the former employee, this activity was carried out on the instructions of Dr Mujammil Shakeel, who is reportedly linked to a terrorist organisation and Dr Umar Nabi, who later carried out a suicide attack. Staff members who refused to comply were allegedly marked absent and faced salary deductions.
The former staffer also claimed that Hindu employees at the institution faced discrimination. Some Kashmiri medical workers and doctors on night duty allegedly praised Pakistan openly and even shouted pro-Pakistan slogans. Sources further suggest that Dr Shaheen Saeed used to accompany Dr Mujammil to the NIT Market to purchase explosives and other suspicious items. Investigators are now examining their movements, purchases, and possible contacts.
Laxman, a nursing staff member from Rajasthan who worked at the university from July to October 2025, alleged that the fake files were mainly prepared during night shifts. Each staff member was expected to create five such files daily, with doctors’ signatures already present. These files reportedly listed medicines that were never given to patients. Doctors would collect the files each morning, but staff said they were never informed about their real purpose. The files were allegedly used to fraudulently claim money by pretending to treat poor patients. Those who refused to participate in the process reportedly had their salaries withheld. The strict enforcement of this rule, however, did not apply to Kashmiri staff, according to the claims. The former employee also alleged that Muslim staff members received 80 kilograms of free rations every month. The hospital and medical college employ around 200 nursing staff, of whom roughly 80% are Muslim and 20% Hindu, with about 35% of the medical workforce coming from Kashmir.
Laxman also claimed that Hindu employees were treated unfairly, saying they were not given sweets during Deepawali while Muslim staff received free rations during Ramadan. He added that some Kashmiri medical staff and doctors working night shifts frequently praised Pakistan, shouted slogans like “Pakistan Zindabad,” and discussed issues related to Kashmir, alleging mistreatment by the Indian Army.
Parents of students at Al-Falah University have written to several authorities, including the Union Health and Education Ministers, the Chief minister of Haryana, and other senior officials, requesting the formation of a high-level committee. They seek assurances regarding the safety of students and want their children’s education to continue smoothly during the ongoing investigation.
According to the parents, ever since Al-Falah University’s name surfaced in connection with alleged terror-related activities, students have faced suspicion and discrimination. This atmosphere has reportedly caused fear among them, making it difficult to concentrate on studies or even sleep properly. More than 360 parents, primarily from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Delhi, and the NCR region, have collectively expressed concern about the academic future and well-being of their children.
Delhi Metro Station Blast
The explosion occurred on the evening of November 10 near Gate Number 1 of the Red Fort metro station in Delhi. A powerful blast inside a white Hyundai i20 resulted in the deaths of around 15 people and injuries to more than 20 others. Authorities have stated that the incident was a terrorist attack with possible links to individuals associated with Al-Falah University.
The suicide bomber, identified as Dr Umar Nabi, an assistant professor at the university, allegedly carried out the attack using ammonium nitrate. Security agencies have arrested Dr Mujammil Shakeel, a surgeon, and Dr Shaheen Saeed, a pharmacologist, for their suspected involvement. Both are believed to have connections with the terrorist organisations Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind. The investigation into this terror network, comprising highly educated professionals, is still ongoing.
