Dehradun: Akhil Bharatiye Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) will organise 71st National Conference from 28 to 30 November at Parade Ground in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, in temporarily established tent city named as ‘Bhagwan Birsa Munda Nagar’. More than 1500 delegates from across the country including students, teachers, academicians, full-time workers, and student unions office bearers from major universities of India will participate in the event.

ABVP has included various programmes, sessions, and exhibitions on the occasion of this National Conference. The main auditorium of the conference has been named after the pride of Uttarakhand and India’s valiant son, the first Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat. Among the significant processions preceding the conference are the Bhagwan Birsa Sandesh Yatra, which began from Ulihatu, Jharkhand, on the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, and the Rani Abbakka Kalash Yatra, which commenced from the birthplace of Rani Abbakka in Karnataka on the occasion of her 500th birth anniversary. Additionally, holy water from the martyrdom site of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Gurudwara Sheesh Ganj Sahib in Delhi, will also be brought to the conference to mark the 350th martyrdom anniversary.

During the conference, the Prof. Yashwantrao Kelkar Youth Award Ceremony will also held in memory of Prof. Yashwantrao Kelkar, known as the architect of ABVP for providing the organisational strength. In this ceremony, Gorakhpur’s Shrikrishna Pandey who has played a significant role in social welfare will be honoured with the Prof. Yashwantrao Kelkar Award. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will attend the award ceremony as the Chief Guest. Throughout the conference, there will be deep reflection and discussion on contemporary issues of importance such as education, society, environment, service, sports, and technology. The Resolution Committee will consider various suggestions received from across the country and the relevant resolutions will be passed in the conference.

One of the key attractions of the conference is a grand exhibition named ‘Maharani Abbakka Exhibition’. It features ABVP’s ideological lineage, national and state-level campaigns of the organisation, heroes of the freedom struggle, icons of cultural renaissance, and, in particular, the valour of Rani Abbakka presented with great impact.
