Bihar: Nitish Kumar takes oath as Chief Minister for record 10th time

Patna: Janata Dal (United)- (JDU) chief Nitish Kumar on November 20 took oath as Bihar’s Chief Minister for the record 10th time. The swearing-in ceremony was held at Patna historic Gandhi Maidan.

Other than Kumar, a total of 26 MLAs of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) were also sworn-in as Ministers.

From Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Samrat Chaudhary, Vijay Kumar Sinha, Dilip Jaiswal, Mangal Pandey, Ramkripal Yadav, Sanjay Singh tiger, Surendra Mehta, Lakhendra Kumar Raushan, Shreyasi Singh, Nitin Nabin, Rama Nishad, Narayan Prasad, Pramod Kumar and Arun Prasad have also taken oath as Ministers.

From JDU’s Shrawan Kumar, Vijendra Chaudhary, Bijendra Yadav, Ashok Chaudhary, Madan Sahni, Jama Khan, Lesi Singh and Sunil Kumar also took oath as Ministers.

Other than BJP and JDU, HAM(S) Santosh Kumar Suman and two MLAs from LJP-R Sanjay Kumar and Sanjay Kumar Singh were also sworn-in as Ministers. RLMs Deepak Prakash was also among those who took oath as Ministers.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP president JP Nadda and Chief Ministers of multiple states including Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, MP CM Mohan Yadav, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and other senior leaders of the NDA.

The NDA registered a historic landslide victory in the 2025 Bihar assembly polls, winning 202 of the 243 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan managed to secure only 35 seats. The Bihar assembly elections were held in two phases on November 6 and 11 with results announced on November 14.
