Kolar: Amidst political tensions and debates surrounding public gatherings, the path sanchalan of the Rashtiya Swayamsevak Sangh in Malur town, Kolar district, took place on October 26 in a grand and highly successful manner. The event received formal permission from the district administration and was held under tight police security, marking a significant display of organisational strength in the area.
Over three thousand swayamsevaks gathered at the Government Junior College ground in Malur before commencing the procession. The path sanchalan spanning approximately four kilometers, proceeded along the route sanctioned by the police, covering key areas of the town including the BEO office roundabout, Kuvempu Circle, Dharmaraya Swamy Temple, Agrahara Street, Kumbarpete Circle, Doddapete, Maharaja Circle, Baburao Road, Kempegowda Circle, Marikamba Circle, Brahmakumari Road, and Araleri Road, before concluding back at the Honda Stadium.
The path sanchalan drew enthusiastic crowds, with thousands lining the streets to watch the event. Spectators enthusiastically captured photos and videos on their mobile phones while showering flowers on the marching swayamsevaks of the RSS as they passed by. Even areas near the town mosque witnessed residents welcoming the procession participants with floral tributes, signaling widespread local engagement with the event.
Former Member of Parliament Muniswamy, speaking after the path sanchalan, highlighted the strong public support for the RSS, stating, “Despite opposition and criticism, the people’s backing is evident. Some detractors may speak against the RSS, but the Malur path sanchalan is proof of its growing acceptance and influence among the masses.”
The path sanchalan was organised against a backdrop of controversy in the state, where the RSS has faced political scrutiny and opposition. Despite efforts by the state Congress government to impose indirect restrictions, including bureaucratic procedures that could have hampered the path sanchalan, the organisers successfully secured permission from the district administration and police department. This enabled a smooth and highly visible demonstration of discipline and organisation by the cadre, exceeding expectations.
Special attention was given to the centenary celebrations of the RSS in Karnataka. With the organisation marking 100 years of its presence, the Malur path sanchalan symbolised a milestone event, attracting widespread attention from supporters and onlookers alike.
Several senior leaders also participated in the event, including former Minister Krishnayya Shetti, former MLA Manjunath Gowda, and former MP Muniswamy. Their presence underscored the political significance of the path sanchalan and highlighted the organizational strength of the RSS in the region.
