The United States of America and its infamous intelligence wing, Central Intelligence Agency(CIA) is known across the globe for its notorious deeds. It gets definition for its actions such as fuelling anti-regime rhetoric, toppling the legitimately established governments through civil uprising and deflecting the geopolitical landscape to nurture US hegemonic aspirations. US activities in South Asia through its intelligence tool called as CIA are not a new phenomenon. From US activities in Afghanistan during 1979 Soviet invasion to the recent regime destabilization in Bangladesh and Nepal, it is an open secret that CIA indeed has a hidden hand behind the political drama in South Asia.

The latest episode of the mysterious death of the US Special Forces Officer Terrence Arvelle Jackson in a hotel room in Dhaka, Bangladesh on August 31, further stirs doubts regarding US intelligence actions in South Asia, specifically in India’s backyard. The death of the US security official has particularly catalyzed apprehensions about whether the US officer was particularly deployed in Dhaka with an agenda to target India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Analysts speculate that there might have been an ideation and attempt to assassinate PM Modi. However, this was foiled by the joint operation of the intelligence units of India and Russia.

Geopolitical experts exclaim these assertions by weaving the dots that unfolded adjoining the death of the US official in Dhaka. Let us decode these dots to understand if there was a plot to assassinate PM Modi. Terrence Arvelle Jackson was found dead in his hotel room in Dhaka on August 31. On the superficial level reports suggested that he was posted in Bangladesh apparently to train the Bangladesh Army on Saint Martin’s Island.

The day when US official Terrence Arvelle was found dead Prime Minister Modi was in Tianjin, China to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation(SCO) summit. Post the summit, Prime Minister Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin exchanged intense talks inside the car. This Modi-Putin bonhomie in Tianjin was widely discussed and circulated. Subject experts and media fraternity tried to decode the probable credentials of their meeting and the distinct dots are now in conjuncture.

It is analyzed that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and President Putin, India and Russian intelligence forces in a joint operation neutralized the US security official in Dhaka who was plotting an attempt to assassinate PM Modi. It is of all possibility that PM Modi and President Putin discussed this very high-profile and intense agenda during their 45-minute-long unplanned conversation inside the car in Tianjin. In conclusion, the day Modi and Putin held secret discussions was the same day the US official was found dead in Dhaka.

Another statement affirmed by PM Modi further adds strength to the above speculations. On September 2, just the day after returning from Tianjin, China, Prime Minister Modi addressed the Semicon summit in New Delhi. During the event, his speech made wide circulations. Many media professionals and domain experts’, seeked to decipher the true meaning of the Prime Minister’s statement. “Are you clapping because I went to China or are you clapping because I came back?”, asked PM Modi. According to analysts, these cryptic remarks by PM Modi translate into a serious message. It sends messages regarding the life threats faced by the Prime Minister.

The attempt by CIA to destabilize India or create anarchy in New Delhi and aim to establish a pro-US puppet regime is not any alien aspect. The efforts are been consistent down the decades. But, lately these notorious acts are more rigorous, repeated and assertive. The reason being simple, there is a strong, nationalist and outrightly legitimate regime in New Delhi. The Government of India led by Prime Minister Modi will not bow down to any external aggression, threats or irrational compulsions. As the world’s most populous country and fourth largest economy which is set be the third largest economy down the lane, the government always prioritizes sovereign dignity, national security and territorial integrity. It will not yield to the whims and fancies or hegemonic aspirations of others.

Be it the illogical claims by US President Donald Trump that he mediated between India and Pakistan to halt the conflict or be it in terms of purchasing the Russian oil to ensure energy security of the country or be it indulging in a firm and solid trade negotiations without compromising the economic security of the nation, this New India is firm, solid and bold. This new dawn in the post-independent history of India might irk some foreign regimes. They might seek to destabilize India to thwart its growth momentum and to furnish respective hegemonic ambitions. In this direction, as analysts opine targeting Prime Minister will be an integral part of the illicit strategy. But, New India will not yield down and will not compromise its national security and priorities for the sake of foreign powers and their irrational ambitions. The message is clear and confident, which Prime Minister himself has stressed on many occasions, that he is ready to defend the security and sovereignty of the country under any circumstances.
