As per the report, the heinous crime took place in Poruwa Chariali in Tezpur town on October 15. At around 8.30 am, the accused murderer came and had tea in a roadside hotel. The hotel is owned by Biren Das. The victim, a specially abled girl, was cleaning dishes behind the hotel at that time. After having tea, the accused Abed Ali went behind the hotel where the victim was present. Temple Pujari Puniram Das saw the attack and immediately informed the hotel owner, Biren Das. By the time both reached the spot, the murderer had beheaded the victim woman. Both Biren Das and Puniram Das captured the accused, tied him with a rope, and informed the police. Sources said that murderer Abed Ali allegedly tried to molest the victim, a woman with special needs. But, she refused and tried to escape. Fearing exposure, the accused killed the victim.
