New Delhi: In a worrying development, the Bihar Police Headquarters on August 28 issued a statewide high alert after receiving intel about entry of three Pakistan-based terrorists into State via Nepal borders.

According to reports, the suspected trio are operatives of Pakistan based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed who have reportedly crossed into Bihar through the Nepal border.

As per media reports, the Jaish operatives had reached Kathmandu in the second week of August after which they sneaked into the Bharatiya territory.

Details of the suspects have been shared with district intelligence units to keep a vigil eye on any movement of the operatives. An alert has been sounded and instructions have been given to increase surveillance and intelligence gathering.

A reward of Rs 50000 has also been announced with authorities urging the people to immediately report if they spot the suspects. The intelligence units have been also asked to take the necessary action based on any suspicious activity.

Earlier security was beefed up in the State following operation Sindoor. Security agencies are also keeping a vigil watch at the Nepal border which touches several districts of the State.

Notably, the State shares a long and open border with Nepal with several of its districts including Sitamarhi, Supaul, East and West Champaran etc. sharing its northern border with Nepal.

The bordering areas particularly in the north have been long considered a hotspot for various unlawful activities ranging from smuggling activities to supply of fake currencies, posing significant challenges to the security agencies.
