Bharat avenged the Pahalgam terror attack during Operation Sindoor in 22 minutes, Pak airbases still in ICU: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a powerful address to Parliament, outlined India's decisive response to the Pahalgam terror attack through Operation Sindoor. He asserted that India avenged the attack in just 22 minutes, shattered Pakistan’s terror infrastructure, and refused to bow to nuclear threats.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing Parliament on July 29, delivered a sharp message to the nation and to India’s adversaries, saying he was standing to “put across the viewpoint of India” and to show the mirror to those who could not see it.

Referring to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, where terrorists reportedly asked victims their religion before executing them, Modi said it was a brutal and pre-planned attempt to push Bharat into violence. “After April 22, I had publicly declared that we will avenge the attack. Not just the terrorists but even their supporters would face consequences they could not imagine,” he asserted.

Modi revealed that he gave clear instructions for a befitting reply and expressed full faith in the armed forces, giving them a free hand to choose the time and place of retaliation. “We are proud that after we avenged the attack, our enemies are having sleepless nights,” he said.

He confirmed that Pakistan was anticipating a major Indian response, and on May 7, India struck back with precision in just 22 minutes under Operation Sindoor. “It was for the first time that we reached areas in Pakistan where we had never gone before. We reached Bhagalpur and destroyed the terrorist infrastructure,” the Prime Minister disclosed.

Modi made it clear that India would not yield to nuclear blackmail. “Bharat proved that we will not succumb. We showcased our technology and destroyed their air bases with precision. Till date, some Pakistani air bases remain in ICU,” he said.

Highlighting a decade of preparation, Modi praised the performance of indigenous defence capabilities during the operation. “Operation Sindoor proved how awesome ‘Made in India’ is. Our drones destroyed Pakistani targets. The Navy, Army and Air Force acted in perfect synergy, it rattled Pakistan,” he added.

“The scale of our operation was seen by the world. From Sindoor to Sindhu, that is the range of our response,” he declared, warning that Pakistan would have to pay a heavy price. “We will retaliate on our terms and conditions. Nuclear blackmail will not work. Governments supporting terrorism will not be treated separately from terrorists,” he warned.

He criticised the Congress for playing politics during the crisis. “It is unfortunate that the world stood with us, but Congress did not stand with our armed forces,” Modi said. He confirmed that Operation Sindoor was called off on May 10.

Touching on foreign policy, the Prime Minister said no country had stopped India from taking action against terrorism. “Only three countries supported Pakistan. The rest of the world stood with Bharat,” he noted.

Modi expressed his gratitude to the people of India for their support during Operation Sindoor. “I laud the people. Their support strengthened us,” he said.
