The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has suspended A. Rajasekhar Babu, Assistant Executive Officer, following allegations that he was attending church prayers every Sunday in his hometown, Puttur, in Tirupati district.
According to a statement released, on July 8, from TTD, “It has come to the notice of TTD that Sri Rajasekhar Babu attends local church prayers every Sunday in his hometown Puttur in Tirupati district. It is nothing but violation of TTD norms as he has not followed the code of conduct of the TTD as an employee of the organisation, and has acted irresponsibly as an employee representing a Hindu religious organisation.”

TTD clarified that the act constituted a serious breach of the code of conduct expected of its employees, who are custodians of a prestigious Hindu religious institution. Based on an enquiry and the report submitted by the TTD Vigilance Department, action was initiated in accordance with departmental rules.
“In this context, after examining the report submitted by the TTD Vigilance Department and other evidence, departmental action was initiated against him as per the rules and he was suspended with immediate effect,” the statement added.
In the wake of the adulterated laddu controversy and following the formation of the new coalition government in 2024 under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in Andhra Pradesh, the TTD has initiated a series of corrective measures to restore the sanctity and discipline within its institutions.
One of the recent actions taken involves the transfer of Padmavati Mahila Polytechnic Principal Anshuta, who has been relocated to the Narsingapuram Pharmacy College. Allegations against her include being of a different faith, refusing to attend pujas, misconduct with faculty and staff, and selling college material to outsiders. Colleagues reportedly submitted complaints citing her disrespectful behaviour towards staff and failure to uphold the cultural and devotional practices expected in a TTD-run institution.
