The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee has sparked controversy by sharing a world map showing Kashmir as part of Pakistan. The map was shared as part of its criticism of the Prime Minister’s foreign visits. The BJP called it a deliberate act and accused the Congress of repeatedly distorting the country’s map. The X handle later deleted the post and shared a corrected version with the proper map.
The BJP responded immediately. BJP leader Amit Malviya shared the now-deleted post on X, stating, “Shocking, but not surprising. Congress Kerala has shared a map of India that cedes parts of Jammu & Kashmir to Pakistan and China.”
This is not the first time Congress state units have drawn the nation’s ire over map distortions. Reports from Tamil Nadu suggest that the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee also used an incorrect map while criticising the BJP-led Union Government. The BJP views this as part of a broader pattern, not an isolated incident. Notably, even though the post was deleted, the Congress has yet to issue an apology or explain the circumstances that led to such a serious error — or how it managed to go unnoticed.
Shocking but not surprising.

This isn’t a mistake. It is a pattern. From Karnataka to Tamil Nadu to now Kerala, Congress units across states have repeatedly posted distorted… pic.twitter.com/ydF9kiHZpb

The Congress post highlighted the countries visited by Prime Minister Modi by marking them in red, while referring to the remaining grey-coloured countries as the PM’s “bucket list” (implying countries he still wishes to visit).
Significantly, it is difficult to believe that this issue was merely a human error. Moreover, the Congress party has yet to tender an apology in connection with this grave mistake. No one worth their salt would believe this was an innocent oversight. Undoubtedly, the action by the Congress X handle is anti-national. Since the Kerala government has not taken any action thus far, nationalists believe that an NIA inquiry is essential and that strict measures must be taken against those responsible.
