“Pakistan is Terroristan and ‘Hate Bharat’ is its motto,” said renowned thinker and orator S. Gurumoorthy in Thiruvananthapuram on 21 May. He was speaking on “Operation Sindoor – Paradigm Shift from Candle Light to BrahMos” at Raj Bhavan.

Gurumoorthy said that Bharat gained a constitutionalised rule post-independence. But Pakistan, which attained freedom alongside Bharat, underwent military rule for 43 years on various occasions. Several rulers were assassinated.

Gurumoorthy further said that the military rules the roost and controls everything in Pakistan. The military is a mammoth corporate entity there. They run large industries and factories under the banner of the Soldiers’ Foundation. The Soldiers’ Foundation is constituted by retired and serving military personnel and their families. Seventy percent of the Pakistani economy is controlled by the military. The Soldiers’ Foundation provides large-scale economic aid to jihadi outfits such as Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Pakistan has lost several straight wars with Bharat. Now, they are deploying terrorists against our country.

Gurumoorthy added that candlelight protests were the practice during Congress rule, when Pakistani terrorists unleashed mass massacres in the country. But now, Bharat retaliates against the terrorists with an iron fist. The world recognised the military might of Bharat after Operation Sindoor.

Lauding the efforts of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi towards Atmanirbhar Bharat, sh Murthy said that about 32 % of India’s defence equipment are ‘Made in India’ which has made a huge impetus in the strategic dimensions of India’s defence preparedness. The Governor Rajendra Viswanath Arlekar presided over the function.

Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekkar chaired the programme. The Governor honoured the family members of the late N. Ramachandran. Sheela Ramachandran, the widow of Pahalgam martyr N. Ramachandran, along with her daughter Arati, grandsons Kedar and Drupad, and son Aravind, participated in the programme.

Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekkar and Goa Governor Adv. P.S. Sreedharan Pillai had paid their last respects to N. Ramachandran when his mortal remains were laid for public viewing at Changampuzha Park in Edappally, his native place in Kochi, on 25 April.
