Operation Sindoor: New benchmark against terrorism from shakti to shanti

Operation Sindoor marks a historic and decisive shift in the global fight against terrorism, showcasing Bharat’s strength from Shakti (power) to Shanti (peace). It reflects a bold, united resolve to uphold justice and humanity in the face of terror

In his address to the Nation on Buddha Poornima, May 12, 2025 at 8 pm, PM Modi thanked the Indian Armed Forces (IAF – Military, Air Force, Navy), Border Security Force (BSF), paramilitary Forces, scientists, intelligence and security agencies etc. for the first of its kind in the whole world, tremendously successful action against terrorism – “Operation Sindoor”, that began at 1:04 am on May 7, 2025, and lasted till May 10, 5 pm (when ceasefire was declared)! It lasted for only 88 hours! He also thanked 140 crore citizens of Bharat and all the opposition parties for staying united during these testing hours. The gist of his address can be summarised as – “Operation Sindoor is not just a name but it’s a reflection of the feelings of millions of people of the country. It is an unwavering pledge for justice against terrorists who dared to wipe the Sindoor from the foreheads of our daughters and sisters, and India destroyed the very headquarter of terror. It has redefined the fight against terror, setting a new benchmark, a new normal. Our fight against terrorism will continue. This is not an era of war, but it is not an era of terrorism either. Zero tolerance against terrorism is the guarantee of a better world. Terror and talks cannot coexist. Terror and trade cannot go hand in hand. Water and blood can never flow together. India will not tolerate any nuclear blackmail. India will strike precisely and decisively at the terrorist hideouts developing under the cover of nuclear blackmail. Lord Buddha has shown us the path of peace. The path of peace also goes through power. Humanity should move towards peace and prosperity.”

Alertness, Courage, Valour, Efficiency, Precision, Technology, Humanity by IAF

As stated by IAF in a press release, these strikes against terrorism were “Precise, Proportionate, Measured, Non-escalatory in Nature” The whole world is praising this akalpaniya, avishvasniya and adbhud Operation, and they are looking up to us. Bharat has done what no other country has been able to do against terrorism. Only in 88 hours, using marvelously advanced, indigenously developed defence systems. Be it Brahmos Missile, or Akash Missile, Radar systems, drones, or ADS (Air Defence Systems). Not a single fighter jet of Pakistan could enter our land! We annihilated nine terrorist camps and killed more than 100 terrorists, in only 25 minutes in the early hours of May 7, 2025. We could enter their hearts and souls on their land. We destroyed 11 airbases of Pakistan. Not only that, our equipment took pictures and videos of the devastation caused by the IAF as well, as proof. We dared to attack a nuclear power, such was our commitment to annihilate terrorists, their camps, their support system and infrastructure. But still, they won’t grant a permanent seat to India in the UNSC! Pakistan offers a State funeral to the terrorists killed in Operation Sindoor, with their bodies wrapped in the Pakistani flag and Pak Army officials attending their last rites. Bharat showed these pictures to the whole world. How shameful! There is a festive mood throughout Bharat. Everyone feels proud of our armed forces. PM Modi visited Adampur Airbase on the morning of May 13, 2025, to celebrate, cheer and morally boost our army personnel with incredible ADS S-400 and MIG-29 standing proudly in the background. Even on May 13, three dreaded terrorists were killed in Shopian village of Kashmir by Indian Army personnel.

But how could India do this? Is it only because of the exceptional courage, valour and brave action of the Armed Forces? Is it only because of the stupendous contribution of our researchers and scientists? Is it only because of the terrific services of our intelligence agencies and other security forces? Of course it is. But there is more to it, which we must realise and appreciate too. Before all this could happen, our Armed Forces needed an order to execute. And that order is given by our leader, our PM, backed by his team and 140 Crore citizens. The strong PM, his willpower, his faith and confidence in his Armed Forces, the faith of 140 Crore people of the Nation in his leadership – everything together counts that has culminated in the stellar success of Operation Sindoor. Gratitude to Team Modi – Honourable Raksha Mantri, EAM, Home Minister, CDS, NSA – world’s best brains! Truly proud of you. Moreover, after the Pahalgam terror attack, Bharat had launched a comprehensive economic, diplomatic and logistic retaliation against Pakistan. Favourable diplomatic relations of Bharat with many countries of the world under PM Modi’s wise leadership, robust economic strength of Bharat at present, positive Nationalist environment in the country – everything has its new story to narrate! Post-Op-Sindoor, Bharat has emerged even stronger as a nation. Her stature is touching the skies. She will now be counted among an elite class of Nations, who have set an example before the world of how to use her advanced warfare capabilities to annihilate terrorism, how to behave responsibly, ethically, with restraints, who did not use her full powers even if she could. Bharat has behaved as an extremely responsible, mature Nation, and is ready to take off on its flight to become a developed Nation. And Vishwa Guru. The New Bharat is bubbling with radiant energy and confidence. The Nation that worships her Shastra, her animals, rivers, trees, mountains and ancestors. A Nation that uses Shakti to bring peace, the country that fights even with the enemy with Ethics. A Nation that believes in

“Ahimsa paramo dharamah, dharmah hinsa tathaiv cha”

Already the world’s fifth-largest economic power, Bharat is ready to become 4th one this year, and this is just the beginning. She has shown the world that she will not tolerate anything that obstructs her, and will do anything to destroy any force that comes her way. Whether that force is external (other country) or internal (within country). This is a new Bharat – focused, determined, courageous. Operation Sindoor of Bharat has raised aspirations of its citizens and the world. The world has seen how to crush the serpent of terrorism that has been murdering humanity for decades. However, is that enough? The problem is not Pakistan only, the problem is the ideology that creates and feeds terrorism. The root cause of this ideology has to be eradicated. How the army of Pakistan can support terrorism has to be understood and taken care of. Why is Pakistan supported financially by the IMF in terms of loans of billions and billions of dollars after every war with Bharat, be it after the war/strike of 1965, 1971, 1999, 2019 or 2025? Our Finance ministry said, “Fund’s processes lacked moral safeguards”. The world should see which country has the most voting weightage/share in the IMF. Have they ever pondered over where that money is being used, whether in development or in supporting the terrorist ecosystem? But business must not stop. Why in the western media, they are not dealing sternly with Pakistan (or any other country that nurtures terrorism, for that matter), even after so much evidence being produced by Bharat? Until they treat

Act of terrorism as war against humanity

The ideology of terrorism will not be wiped out. It is said in our Bharatiya philosophy, “Papi ka nahi, pap ka nash karne se paap ka ant hoga” This means – Don’t hate the sinner, sin has to be annihilated. And in the current scenario, anyone who supports the sinner must also be eliminated. That is what the world has to understand and act accordingly. The way Bharat has acted. Truly, it is said – with power comes responsibility. Operation Sindoor has increased the responsibility of Bharat even more – responsibility towards Humanity, responsibility to save Humanity. And Bharat has to fulfil it. It is her duty now. Once we reach a stature, we can’t step back. It becomes more difficult to maintain that stature. That is where we have to focus now, with determination.

We have to change the mindsets of people for that, and it begins at home. First, the anti-national forces living within the country will have to realise this responsibility. And then, we must cure the radical mentalities that nurture ideologies of terrorism worldwide. The philosophy of Sanatan Dharma of Bharat is that it believes in Sarve Bhavantu Sukhina, Vasudhaivam Kutumbakam, Satya, Nyaya, and Daan. Why does there have to be unhealthy competition among countries of the world to become number one or number two, using fair/unfair means and practices? The civilisation must identify the ideological nature of enemies or it would be at risk of extinction. Bharat believes that all of us can prosper and be happy if we act with fairness, justice, harmony and equality. Trade and money are not everything; more important is happiness, human relationships and family bonds. Life is not business or trade; life is about loving and caring fellow human beings. These ethos are what are keeping the soul of Bharat alive for several thousand years! And will always do so. The world should not forget that Bharat has never attacked anyone in its history; we have always defended ourselves. But that should not be taken as our weakness, and now we won’t hesitate to protect ourselves, by any means, from anyone who tries to break us or hurt us. And we’ll have to be cautious. “Success. It’s got enemies.”
