Andhra Pradesh: “If you love Pakistan too much, go live there,” warns Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan

We don’t even know who’s living among us and under what disguise. Rather than focusing solely on political office, guarding our society is more important. We must constantly be alert to unfamiliar individuals in our surroundings. Because of our goodness, they are now coming right into our homes and killing us

In a fierce and emotional address at the condolence meeting for the victims of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Janasena Party chief Pawan Kalyan issued a direct warning to those harbouring sympathies for Pakistan and turning a blind eye to terror attacks in India.

“Kashmir is an inseparable part of India. If you love Pakistan so much, go live there,” he thundered, sending a strong message to what he called “pseudo-secular elements” who remain silent when Hindus are targeted.

On 29 April, a tribute meeting was held in Mangalagiri to honour the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. Tributes were paid to the 26 people who lost their lives. Alongside Pawan Kalyan, ministers, party MLAs, and MLCs offered floral tributes to the portrait of Janasena activist and Kavali resident Somisetti Madhusudan Rao.

Pawan Kalyan described the brutal killing of innocent Hindu pilgrims, including Janasena activist Madhusudan Rao, as a wake-up call for the nation, and announced Rs 50 lakh financial assistance to the bereaved family.

He criticised the narrative being pushed by certain sections of the media and civil society, stating: “The terrorists asked ‘Are you Hindu or Muslim?’ before opening fire. Why cover up this truth? Why the selective silence? Is this secularism?”

Reiterating India’s commitment to truth, he said: “India’s slogan is Satyameva Jayate. We believe in truth. We must call a wrong a wrong, and a right a right. Why would Madhusudan’s wife lie? Some people sitting in India say they love Pakistan. Those who love Pakistan should go live there.”

He continued, emphasising the human cost of the attack: “Madhusudan lost his life in the terror attack. What about his wife and children? The family is now thrust into the public eye. They said they trusted us — that’s why they went to Kashmir. I take their criticism upon myself.”

He recalled a heart-wrenching detail from the victim’s wife. Just half an hour before the attack, Madhusudan had asked her to apply a bindi. She later expressed, with deep sorrow, that wearing the bindi identified her as a Hindu — and they were targeted because of it.

“After the sound of boots faded, gunshots were heard. Soon, her face was covered in her husband’s blood. Hearing these details melted my heart. Where his head should have been, there was none. Forty bullets were fired into his head. They killed him so cruelly.”

Pawan Kalyan pointed out that the terrorists attacked unarmed tourists — people who had placed immense trust in Kashmir’s improving situation. He cited the figure of nearly 2 crore tourists visiting in 2022 and 2023, after President’s Rule was lifted and power handed back to the local government, subsequently resurfacing of terrorism.

“Ours is a soft nation. But after seeing the pain of Madhusudan’s wife, I feel we don’t need to show mercy to terrorists. They must be eliminated without hesitation.”

Criticising certain journalists and public figures, he said: “Some refer to the perpetrators merely as ‘a group’. Just speaking the truth is not hate — it’s rightful anger towards terrorists. We have many Muslim leaders in our country. Have we ever shown hatred towards them?”

He reminded everyone that Janasena understands the pain of the victims’ families, and announced three days of mourning as a mark of respect.

“A Prime Minister has a tough job. We must support such leaders in our own small way — not by creating unrest, but by speaking responsibly. Where needed, we must offer our shoulder. As an NDA ally, this is our duty.”

He also issued a cautionary message about internal threats: “We don’t even know who’s living among us and under what disguise. Rather than focusing solely on political office, guarding our society is more important. We must constantly be alert to unfamiliar individuals in our surroundings. Because of our goodness, they are now coming right into our homes and killing us.”

Finally, Pawan Kalyan made a resolute appeal: “On terrorism, we must take a clear stand. Even if our regional presence is limited to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, our ideological stance is nationalist.”
