India is in mourning following the passing of Dadi Ratan Mohini, the Chief Administrator of the Brahma Kumaris spiritual organisation. Revered for her profound spirituality, compassionate leadership, and unwavering commitment to social reform, Dadi Ratan Mohini breathed her last at the age of 101. Her death marks the end of an era for the Brahma Kumaris and for millions who drew inspiration from her life and teachings.

In a heartfelt message on social media platform X, President Droupadi Murmu paid rich tributes to the departed soul. “I am deeply saddened to learn about the demise of Dadi Ratan Mohini ji. She was a beacon of light for the Brahma Kumari organisation. This organisation has contributed significantly to my life journey,” the President wrote in Hindi. She lauded Dadi Ratan Mohini’s lifelong efforts to promote harmony, peace, and public welfare.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed deep sorrow at her demise. In his tribute, he remembered Dadi Ratan Mohini as a “towering spiritual presence” who embodied faith, simplicity, and selfless service. “Her life journey, rooted in deep faith, simplicity and unshakable commitment to service will motivate several people in the times to come,” he wrote. He noted her outstanding leadership in guiding the global Brahma Kumaris movement and hailed her for her clarity of thought, humility, and compassion.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also consoled the death of Dadi Ratan Mohini and said her life was dedicated to guiding people to spiritual upliftment. “Saddened by the passing of revered spiritual leader and the Chief Administrator of the Brahma Kumaris, Dadi Ratan Mohini Ji. A life dedicated to guiding people to spiritual upliftment Dadi Ratan Mohini Ji enlightened millions of lives across the world with her wisdom,” Amit Shah wrote on X.

“She provided solace to the distressed soul with her compassion and the inner strength to the spiritual seekers with her inspiration. Her demise leaves behind a void that will continue to pain us. My deepest condolences to her followers at this hour of grief,” Shah added.

Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Om Birla, echoed similar sentiments. Describing her as a guiding light of spiritual wisdom, he said her work inspired countless people to walk the path of truth, peace, and service.

Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Dr Mohan Bhagwat and Sarkaryavah (General Secretary) of the RSS condoled the demise of Dadi ji. Taking to X, they stated, , “The demise of Brahma Kumari respected Dadi Ji is very sad for everyone. She has gone to Sri Vaikunth Dham. Tributes to Param Pujya Rajyogini Ratanmohini Dadi Ji, the chief administrator of Brahma Kumari Sansthan. She played the important role of training thousands of young sisters throughout her life. She did many padayatras to propagate Indian culture and values. God will definitely grant her salvation. Om Shanti.”

Dadi Ratan Mohini assumed the role of Chief Administrator of the Brahma Kumaris following the passing of her predecessor, Dadi Hridaymohini, four years ago. She had previously served as the head of the organisation’s youth wing for over four decades, during which she inspired a generation of young minds to adopt spiritual and value-based living. One of her most notable achievements was leading a massive youth march across India in 2006, which was recognised in the Limca Book of Records.

Born on March 25, 1925, in Hyderabad, Sindh (now in Pakistan), Dadi Ratan Mohini joined the Brahma Kumaris at the tender age of 13. Over her 88-year spiritual journey, she became one of the central pillars of the organisation, guiding it through key phases of expansion and social outreach. Under her stewardship, the Brahma Kumaris launched campaigns focusing on women’s empowerment, youth development, de-addiction, environmental conservation, and yogic farming. Her relentless efforts earned her several national and international accolades, including an honorary doctorate from Gulbarga University in 2014.

Tributes have poured in from across the political spectrum. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Chhattisgarh Governor Ramesh Bais, CM Vishnu Deo Sai, and former Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje Scindia have all expressed their condolences. Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde and Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel also paid their respects.
