Bihar: Devotees returning from Kalash Yatra pelted with stones in Darbhanga’s Kusheshwar Sthan

Patna: Tension simmers in Kewatgama Pachiyari village of Darbhanga after devotees returning from a Kalash Yatra ( procession) were pelted with stones by a group of people from another community, suggest media reports.

According to details, the incident occurred on Sunday evening when the devotees were returning after ‘Kalash Sthapana’ in a Durga Mandir.

The procession including of women and children were reportedly pelted with stones from the roof top of Md. Allauddin, causing panic among the devotees. A few of the devotees also reported to have sustained minor injuries in the stone pelting.

According to preliminary reports, a group of people from the Muslim community reportedly gathered at the roof of the said individual, who started pelting stones on the devotees when they crossed the area. A purported video of the incident has also doing the rounds on the social media platform in which a few people could be seen throwing stones.

The incident has taken place under the jurisdiction of Kusheshwar Sthan police station, sparking tension between the two community.

Learning about the incident, a police team quickly arrived on the spot and took control of the situation. Additional deployment of police personnel were also made subsequently. The police has now launched an investigation into the incident and the miscreants involved in the act are being identified.
