Ranchi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former member of the district council Anil Tiger was shot dead by two bike-borne assailants in Ranchi on March 26.
Tiger was shot when he was sitting at a hotel near Kanke Chowk, a busy locality on Wednesday evening. The miscreants fired shots at Tiger, hitting him in the head at around 4 PM.
The BJP leader was immediately rushed to the hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead. The incident has sent shockwaves into the area, causing panic among the locals.
Learning about the incident, BJP state unit president Babu Lal Marandi and AJSU chief Sudesh Mahto also reached the hospital.
The police on the other hand launched an investigation and nabbed one of the shooters involved in the audacious act. He was reportedly being interrogated by the police.
The incident sparked an outrage among the locals who gathered near the Kanke Chowk, demanding swift action into the case. The matter is being probed further.
