Bithoor Mahotsav: UP CM stresses preserving India’s cultural and revolutionary legacy

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asserted that individuals who disrespect India’s great leaders, freedom fighters, and cultural heritage have no place in the country. Speaking at the Bithoor Mahotsav, he declared that those who assaulted India’s faith, trampled upon Sanatan culture, dishonoured women, and harbored hatred for the country’s identity can never be considered ideals for the nation.

The CM emphasised that respecting India’s history, culture, and values is the fundamental duty of every citizen. He called on people to take pride in the country’s heritage and reject any admiration for those who sought to destroy it. Yogi’s remarks aimed to reinforce the significance of preserving and honoring India’s glorious past, especially at a time when the country is striving to promote its cultural identity and values.

As part of the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan, the event also promoted local entrepreneurship. The government disbursed loans worth Rs 5.42 crore to 1,302 entrepreneurs from Kanpur, fostering business growth. Additionally, 329 Anganwadi workers received appointment letters, and Rs 6.35 crore in financial aid was provided to 127 beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Kalyan Yojana, offering crucial support to farmers affected by accidents.

Yogi highlighted Bithoor’s deep-rooted connection to India’s cultural and historical heritage. He recalled that the town played a vital role in the First War of Independence in 1857, where Nana Rao Peshwa strategized the revolt. “Rani Lakshmibai sharpened her expertise in archery, horse riding, and combat at this place,” he said. The CM called Bithoor the heart of Kanpur, highlighting its spiritual importance, as it is believed that Lord Brahma meditated here while creating the universe.

Referring to a recent remark by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, Yogi called it an eye-opener. He quoted Subianto’s statement during Indonesia’s Republic Day parade, where he said that if their DNA were tested, it would reveal Indian roots. “Indonesia is the largest Muslim-majority country in the world, yet their president proudly acknowledges their Indian heritage. This is a lesson for those who revere foreign invaders in India,” Yogi remarked.

The event saw the participation of several prominent figures, including UP Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana, former MP Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, state ministers Pratibha Shukla and Ajit Pal, and MP Ramesh Awasthi. Their presence underscored the government’s unified stance on promoting local entrepreneurship and honoring India’s rich cultural legacy. The Bithoor Mahotsav not only celebrated the region’s historical significance but also reinforced the importance of preserving and respecting India’s glorious past.
