Mahakumbh’s success must be properly documented as a learning tool and preserved for future generations: CM Yogi

Highlighting the importance of a solution-oriented mindset, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that we fail when we become fearful upon seeing a problem, but we succeed when we focus on finding solutions. When we move towards solutions, new paths open up, and we can set new benchmarks of success.

After the successful completion of Mahakumbh 2025, the CM interacted with police and local administration officials, not only congratulating them but also assigning the task of preserving the inspiration and lessons from this event as a legacy for future generations.

On Thursday, while conveying his heartfelt appreciation, CM Yogi highlighted that Mahakumbh 2025 was successfully organized between February 13 and February 26, spanning from Paush Purnima to Mahashivratri. He acknowledged the crucial role played by the administrative and police systems in ensuring its seamless execution. Calling it an unforgettable moment, he emphasized that such a grand event provides valuable learning experiences.

“Every citizen of the country is amazed, and visitors from around the world have praised the arrangements. While arrangements existed in the past, events were never conducted on such a large scale before,” he said.

The CM mentioned that the learnings from Mahakumbh should be properly documented so that they serve as a benchmark for future events. He emphasized that along with the achievements, shortcomings should also be identified to ensure improvements in upcoming events. He suggested that the Mela Authority, in collaboration with the local administration, should compile these findings and pass them on to future generations.

The Chief Minister stated that the true scale of Mahakumbh in Prayagraj can only be understood by those who witnessed it firsthand. He dismissed baseless comments from those sitting in distant corners of the country or world, stating that every visitor to Prayagraj was left in awe.

“Everyone who came here was amazed. They appreciated the cleanliness, the arrangements, and praised the efforts in security, disaster management, and traffic control,” he said. CM Yogi also mentioned that he had been closely following comments and feedback from around the world on social media, along with positive reports from various media platforms.

He added that the grand event was successfully conducted under the vision and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and now it was time for its final conclusion.

The CM said that despite the massive scale of Mahakumbh 2025, there were no security lapses, criminal incidents, or acts of disorder. He highlighted that not just in Prayagraj but across the entire state, there was no incident that could raise concerns.

He also addressed attempts to spread misinformation, stating, “Some tried to tarnish the event’s image by posting unrelated photos and videos from places like Cairo on social media, but such false narratives failed in Prayagraj and across Uttar Pradesh.”

Praising the efficient traffic management, CM Yogi acknowledged the high pressure on transportation but commended the smooth execution. He stressed the need for proper documentation of these efforts and directed the local police and administration to work together on this task.

He further mentioned that the temporary infrastructure developed in Prayagraj would benefit local residents and be utilized to enhance connectivity with neighboring districts. “Checkered plates and pontoon bridges will be sent to other districts, while some will remain here. These resources must be preserved for future events like the Magh Mela and the 2031 Mahakumbh,” he said, urging the Mela Authority, Urban Development Department, and other agencies to begin preparations in advance.

The Chief Minister emphasized the need to repurpose the infrastructure developed for Mahakumbh 2025 for other pilgrimage sites across the state. “More than 1.5 lakh toilets and water ATMs were set up here. We must explore how these can be utilized in other major pilgrimage sites,” he said.

He added that temporary assets like water pipelines and streetlights can be used by Prayagraj Municipal Corporation or deployed in other districts, stressing the importance of creating a detailed inventory for their proper utilization.

Praising the advancements in security and emergency services, CM Yogi highlighted the introduction of water police in Prayagraj as a new policing model, along with new equipment in Uttar Pradesh Fire Services that should be widely used across the state.

“For the first time in the country, police successfully implemented an anti-drone system for security at Mahakumbh. This should be adopted in other pilgrimage sites as well,” he said, also commending the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) for its effective work.

He further noted that 30 pontoon bridges and 500 km of checkered plates were installed with zero errors, ensuring seamless connectivity. He praised officials for personally monitoring traffic management on the ground, ensuring smooth movement throughout the event.

The event was attended by Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh, Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma, Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, Labor and Employment Minister Anil Rajbhar, Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh, Mayor Ganesh Kesariwani, MP Praveen Patel, along with other MLAs and senior police and administrative officials.
