In the wake of the tragic incident during Mauni Amavasya at Mahakumbh, Yogi government’s healthcare initiatives have brought significant relief to the injured and their families. Patients undergoing treatment at Swaroop Rani Nehru (SRN) Hospital in Prayagraj have expressed their gratitude for the swift response, with many acknowledging the seamless medical and logistical support provided by the state administration.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, closely monitoring the situation, has ensured that all injured devotees receive proper medical care. Under his directives, patients have access to high-quality treatment, free medicines, diagnostic tests, and meals. The government has also extended its support to attendants, arranging free food and essential services for their convenience.

Furthermore, special provisions have been made for the safe return of discharged patients. Ambulances and other transport arrangements are being provided to ensure a hassle-free journey home.

Among those recovering, Sanjoyita Yadav, a 32-year-old from Jaunpur, shared that her treatment included a free CT scan, X-ray, and necessary tests, with hospital staff ensuring she received proper care and medication. Her brother, Vivek Yadav, appreciated the facilities, saying, “We are grateful to the Yogi government for these services, including the ambulance that will take my sister home.”

Similarly, Manorama Devi, a 50-year-old from Ranchi, Jharkhand, received medical attention at SRN Hospital. Her husband, Ishwariya Dayal, praised the hospital’s efforts, remarking, “The Yogi government has made excellent arrangements. My wife is recovering well, and we are thankful for the doctors’ dedication.”

Singh Narayan, a 65-year-old from Fatehpur, who sustained a leg injury, also expressed appreciation for the hospital’s commitment to patient welfare. He lauded the doctors and staff for their tireless service, emphasizing that the government’s intervention has ensured a smooth recovery process.

Gauri Sharma, a 34-year-old from Lucknow, echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the efficient healthcare arrangements. “Despite the unfortunate accident, CM Yogi ensured we received immediate medical aid. The doctors worked relentlessly to provide the best possible care,” she stated.

While many patients and attendants praised the hospital’s response, some raised concerns regarding the nature of the accident. Gauri Sharma from Lucknow questioned the circumstances, stating, “With the level of planning in place, this accident should not have occurred. It seems deliberate, and a thorough investigation is needed.”

Similar concerns were shared by Manorama Devi from Ranchi, who recounted an unusual occurrence during the snan (ritual bath). “About 20 young men suddenly rushed in and started pushing pilgrims, leading to a stampede-like situation. The government should also investigate this aspect,” she urged.

Dr. Santosh Singh, Associate Professor of Surgery and Media In-charge at Motilal Nehru Medical College, confirmed that 41 injured patients were admitted to SRN Hospital, of whom 10 have been discharged so far. “More patients are expected to be released by evening. None of the patients are in critical condition now. Alongside medical care, their attendants are also receiving free meals,” he stated.

Dr. Singh further assured that the state administration is prioritising patient well-being, with ambulances and transport facilities arranged for discharged patients to ensure their safe return home.
