The grandeur of Mahakumbh 2025 was elevated January 16, evening as renowned playback singer and composer Shankar Mahadevan enthralled the audience with his soulful performance of ‘Chalo Kumbh Chalein’. The event marked the inauguration of the special cultural program ‘Sanskriti Ka Sangam’, organised by the Department of Culture to celebrate India’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage.

Held at the Ganga Pandal, the evening was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, who lit the ceremonial lamp to commence the festivities. Shankar Mahadevan expressed his deep gratitude for participating in the sacred event, lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for their visionary leadership in organising this majestic celebration of devotion and culture.

In his opening act, Mahadevan performed ‘Chalo Kumbh Chalein’, a rendition that infused the venue with a deep sense of devotion and harmony. This was followed by a powerful Ganesh Vandana, resonating with spiritual fervor and setting the tone for the ongoing cultural extravaganza.

The ‘Sanskriti Ka Sangam’ program will continue daily at the Ganga Pandal until February 24, featuring grand cultural evenings showcasing renowned artists from across the country. Upcoming performances will include celebrated names like Kailash Kher, Kavita Seth, Hariharan, Nitin Mukesh, Suresh Wadkar, and Kavita Krishnamurthy. These artists will present a mesmerizing blend of folk music, classical dance, and devotional songs, adding to the spiritual and cultural vibrance of Mahakumbh 2025.

The Mahakumbh, a confluence of devotion, faith, and culture, shines bright each evening as lakhs of devotees gather to purify themselves in the sacred waters of the Sangam. The event not only honors the magnificence of Indian traditions but also conveys a powerful message of unity and harmony.

As a platform for showcasing India’s artistic and spiritual diversity, Mahakumbh 2025 provides attendees with an unparalleled experience of cultural richness. From devotional renditions to theatrical performances, the event is a testament to India’s enduring legacy of faith and artistry.

The inaugural evening was attended by several dignitaries, including Mayor Ganesh Shankar Kesariwani, MLA Pooja Pal, and other public representatives and officials. Their presence underscored the significance of Mahakumbh as a unifying force and a celebration of India’s cultural and spiritual ethos.
