Jharkhand Polls: Days before voting, PM Modi holds impressive road show in Ranchi, slams Congress for “caste politics”

During the political rallies held in Gumla and Bokaro, the PM emphasised that as long as SC, ST, and OBC communities were divided the Congress enjoyed power at the Centre based on the police of divide and rule

RANCHI: With just days to go for the first phase of polling in Jharkhand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday held a road show in Ranchi and two rallies – one in Bokaro and another in Gumla, where he slammed Congress and its allies for “attempting to create a divide between SCs, STs, and OBCs.”

He also said that Congress and its allies “can’t see Adivasis on top,” and have kept Jharkhand backward.

PM Modi, launching a scathing attack on JMM and Congress alliance, during his rally in Bokaro, said, “BJP-led government is needed in Jharkhand to drive out infiltrators,”

He alleged that both Congress and JMM were attempting to create a divide between SCs, STs, and OBCs saying they enjoyed power by creating divisions. “Everyone needs to stay alert and aware of the major conspiracy by JMM and Congress. They can do anything for power.”

“Congress has always been opposed to the unity of ST, SC, and OBC communities. After independence, as long as our Dalit community remained divided, Congress enjoyed power at the Centre based on the policy of ‘divide and rule’,” he said.

“However, once the communities united, Congress never again managed to form a government with a full majority at the Centre,” the Prime Minister said.

PM Modi said further said that if the BJP comes to power in Jharkhand, all the ‘paper-leak mafias’ and ‘recruitment mafias’ that were created by JMM-Congress, will be targeted and sent to jail.

PM Modi said that the BJP will provide employment to thousands of youth without any ‘kharchi-parchi’, similarly, to what the party did in Haryana.

“In Haryana, when we formed our government, we gave jobs to thousands of youth. We will do the same if the BJP will form the government in Jharkhand. When the government was formed in Haryana for the third historic time, we gave government job orders to thousands of youths without any ‘kharchi-parchi’. In Haryana, ‘kharchi’ means till the time you don’t give money, you won’t get a job while ‘parchi’ means you won’t get the job until a senior leader writes a letter. We have buried both any ‘kharchi-parchi’ in Haryana. We will do the same in Jharkhand also,” PM Modi said.

In Gumla, PM Modi said Congress and its allies “can’t see Adivasis on top,” and have kept Jharkhand backward.

PM Modi admired the talent diligence, honesty and leadership of tribals. “This is the reason that there are a lot of Adivasi ministers in the BJP government,” the PM said

He further reminded the public that Congress “tried its best” to not let tribal daughter Droupadi Murmu become the President of India, and still continues to insult her. The PM said former Jharkhand chief minister Champai Soren was also insulted.

PM Modi further listed the schemes launched by the NDA government from Jharkhand, these schemes include Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana; The scheme facilitates micro credit/Loan up to Rs 10 lakhs to income generating micro enterprises, and Ayushman Bharat Yojana; the scheme aims to provide free access to health insurance coverage for low income earners.

“We had launched MUDRA yojana from Dumka not Delhi. We had launched Ayunshman Yojana that provided Rs 5 lakh for free treatment from Jharkhand,” PM Modi said.

“We have also started the free treatment of people above 70-year-old. I want to assure you, if anyone from your family above 70-years of age, your mother, father, grandfather if they need treatment, you don’t need to worry about that. Their son is sitting in Delhi,” PM Modi spoke about health insurance coverage to all senior citizens aged 70 and above.

PM Modi further assured that BJP abide by the motto of ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’. He alleged that Congress wants to “break” the unity of tribals, OBCs and Dalits.

“BJP-NDA government abide by the motto of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’. By following this path Jharkhand will develop. However, Congress and JMM have some other intentions. Congress knows that where tribals, OBCs and Dalits got united they were finished from those states. Congress wants to break the unity of SCs, STs and OBCs community. The want to take away the reservation. If you’ll be divided in caste whether your powers recede or not. That’s why I say; Ek Rahenge toh safe rahenge,” PM Modi said.

PM Modi concluded his Sunday in Jharkhand by holding a three km roadshow in Ranchi, where thousands of people gathered on both side of the road to show their support to Bharatiya Janata Party.

Visuals of the roadshow showed people standing in long lines on either side of the road cheering and waving at the Prime Minister’s convoy.

Voting for the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly will be held in two phases on November 13 and 20, with vote counting scheduled for November 23. (With inputs from ANI)
