RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat calls for protection of Sanatan Dharma, warns against “Anti-National Forces”

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat called upon Sangh volunteers to defend the principles of Sanatan Dharma and protect seers from “anti-national forces” attempting to obstruct their work. Dr Bhagwat, speaking at an event in Chitrakoot, emphasised the significance of “safeguarding Sanatan” and described Bharat as a “resilient, unifying nation” dedicated to overcoming challenges and standing firm against injustice.

During his speech, Dr Bhagwat encouraged RSS Karyakartas to be prepared to “remove all obstacles” hindering the work of Sanatan Dharma and its saints, saying that they would employ the necessary measures, even “using sticks (danda),” if required. He asserted that, while it is primarily the administration’s responsibility to prevent incidents that threaten society’s harmony, communities must also be prepared to protect themselves in times of need.

“We need not fear or tolerate injustice,” he said. “Dharma is achieved through our actions, and good and evil have always existed. As a nation rooted in dharma, we stand on the side of righteousness.” Dr Bhagwat further reinforced that the RSS, which he described as “serving the seers and dedicated to dharma,” would ensure that seers engaged in religious pursuits in Mandirs are undisturbed.

The RSS leader went on to praise India as a “secure and prosperous nation,” attributing its strength to the foundation laid by ancient sages and seers. He said that despite the nation’s diversity, Bharat is unified in its commitment to righteousness. “Some forces may try to suppress Bharat, but truth can never be suppressed,” he remarked.

Highlighting the historic Ram Mandir in Ayodhya as a symbol of Sanatan Dharma, Dr Bhagwat affirmed that it belongs to all “Sanatanis” and called on them to protect their heritage and culture. “If the Ram Mandir represents Sanatan, then it is the duty of Sanatanis to defend and uphold our religion and culture,” he asserted.

Reflecting on the RSS’s early years, Dr Bhagwat noted the challenges the organisation faced, from securing food and shelter to finding space for gatherings. “Despite significant hardships, we have grown stronger,” he stated, emphasising the Sangh’s enduring commitment to national unity and resilience.

The remarks follow Dr Bhagwat’s recent appeal to Hindus to remain vigilant in light of recent violence against minorities in Bangladesh. Addressing the need for community resilience, he said, “It is society’s responsibility to protect itself, its property, and loved ones until the administration can take appropriate action.”

Dr Bhagwat concluded with a call for unity, asserting that “propaganda and lies may cause confusion, but eventually, truth wins.” His statements reinforce the RSS’s commitment to its core mission of defending Sanatan Dharma while promoting Bharat’s resilience in the face of adversity.
