In protecting likes of terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, US & Canada have confirmed there is deep-state at play

It is surprising that despite India declaring Sikhs for Justice Chief Gurpatwant Singh as a terrorist under the UAPA, countries such as the US and Canada continue with their unabated backing of the man. What are the compulsions of these nations to back a known terrorist? Is it just local politics or is there a larger agenda in which the deep state is calling the shots

Bharat has a problem of plenty with Canada openly backing the likes of Gurpatwant Singh Pannun and Chanan Singh Sidhu, the president of the Sher-e-e-Punjab Vikas party.

It has been four long years since Bharat designated the two as proscribed terrorists under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act or the UAPA. Since then, based on investigations and Intelligence inputs, India has regularly shared information with Canada about the dangers of these men and how they are running a sustained campaign against India.

While Bharat has assessed the threat that these two men pose, it is worrisome that neither US President Joe Biden nor Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have done anything concrete to bring these two men to justice. Pannun, to be sure, holds dual citizenship in both the US and Canada and has remained in the protected domain in both these nations for a long.

The question is now, why are these Canadians and Americans allowing this, and why can’t they act against these elements?

While in the case of Canada, it is clear that these Khalistani elements are being protected since Justin Trudeau wants to protect its vote bank, in the case of the United States, the reactions are quite mixed.

It may be recalled that days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the United States in September, the White House officials met with a group of pro-Khalistan elements. During the meeting that was attended by Pritpal Singh of the American Sikh Caucus Committee and representatives from the Sikh community, it was assured that there would be no acts of transaction aggression on US soil. Singh, following the meeting, said on X, ‘We will hold them to their assurances to do more to safeguard our community. Freedom and justice must prevail.’

The US backs the likes of Pannun for a variety of reasons. It may be recalled that since the diplomatic ties took a nose dive, Trudeau reached out to the US and also Britain, which has also been complicit on this issue. One part of it is that Canada is among the Five Eyes allies. Trudeau even rang UK PM Kerr Starmer to discuss what he described as a targeted campaign by India against its citizens.

In the US, UK or Canada, the Sikh community, some of whom are passionate about the Khalistan movement, hold a considerable amount of sway. This suits the domestic politics for these countries. Further, these countries are unable to digest India’s growth story and, at any cost, want to keep New Delhi on the boil, focusing on such issues.

This also appears to be part of a strategy by the deep state to fuel violence in India and ensure that the economy collapses. Such pro-Khalistan elements have the backing of the likes of George Soros who holds a considerable sway in the US, UK and Canada. It is all part of a larger agenda, and the manner in which they function makes that very clear, an Intelligence Bureau official tells Organiser.

In the case of Trudeau, it is a classic case of being played. He had often been touted as Zelensky part-2, who had fallen into the US trap. Trudeau started off this game by playing local-level politics so that he could consolidate the votes among the Sikh community. The US sensed a major opportunity in this, and the deep state played him to trigger a diplomatic crisis with India. It serves the US under Joe Biden and the Democrats well to make sure that India remains on the boil.

The US, according to several experts, wants to make a Bangladesh out of India. To keep a country on tenterhooks, which focuses all its resources on curbing violence, only ensures that the nation does not grow and is economically hurt. As mentioned earlier, India is becoming a global power, and the growth story of the country has not gone down too well with the US under Biden; hence, every attempt would be made to hurt Bharat.

What is worse is that these so-called guardians of the democratic process have not acted on these elements despite so much evidence being shared. These countries are the first to comment on non-issues, such as human rights violations that take place in India. They romanticise the likes of Burhan Wani, a terrorist from Jammu & Kashmir. However, when it comes to Pannun, they speak about fundamental rights and freedom of expression. Very often, they forget that Pannun has put out videos of the Bharatiya flag burning. He has allocated funds through illegal means for information on Indian diplomats while making direct threats to kill them. He has funded acts in which Temples of Hindus have been vandalised and anti-Bharatiya graffiti being pasted.

For the acts that are mentioned above, there is no need for some special agent of the Intelligence Bureau of Research and Analysis Wing to dig deep to find evidence. These seditious acts that are being conducted by Pannun are made public by him through his propaganda channels on social media. Despite all this, if these nations do not act, then it is clear that there is a larger design to defame and slow down Bharat’s growth story.

Also aiding these acts are the likes of the New York Times or the Washington Post. While the acts of terror by these elements are clear, these outlets prefer to call these Khalitanis freedom fighters. These outlets have not shied away from calling a Burhan Wani, the son of a poor school teacher, despite the acts of terror he indulged in. They are approaching this Khalistan issue no differently, and little do they realise that these elements are so dangerous that the entire issue would come to bite them in the back. It is just a matter of time.
