Andhra Pradesh: Pawan Kalyan forms new ‘Narasimha Varahi Ganam’ group in Jana Sena to stand firmly for Sanatana dharma

Dy CM, who has consistently spoken in support of Hindu interests, highlighted growing concerns regarding the encroachment of Hindu spaces and increasing challenges faced by devotees. This special division, he announced, would focus on these challenges while actively countering what he called “deliberate attempts to dilute and distort” Sanatana values

In a move to defend and promote Sanatana Dharma, Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party President, Pawan Kalyan, has announced the formation of a dedicated team within his party, named the ‘Narasimha Varahi Ganam’. This division is aimed at protecting the values and practices of Sanatana Dharma, which he described as increasingly under threat from external forces. The announcement follows his earlier ‘Varahi’ declaration in Tirupati, where he pledged to safeguard Hindu interests and uphold dharmic traditions.

At a public gathering on Friday, in IS Jagannathapuram, Eluru, Pawan Kalyan explained that the Narasimha Varahi Group would work exclusively on issues concerning the protection of Sanatana Dharma, temple development, and resolving issues that impact Hindu devotees. Dy CM, who has consistently spoken in support of Hindu interests, highlighted growing concerns regarding the encroachment of Hindu spaces and increasing challenges faced by devotees. This special division, he announced, would focus on these challenges while actively countering what he called “deliberate attempts to dilute and distort” Sanatana values.

“I respect all religions, but it’s my dharma to speak up when Sanatana Dharma faces disrespect or threat,” he said, expressing discontent over selective criticism when he raises these issues. Citing the plight of Hindus in Bangladesh, he argued that Hindus everywhere must awaken to their duty to respond when their faith is under attack. Appropriate action will be taken against those who disparage Sanatana Dharma and speak irresponsibly about it on social media. His speech was widely applauded by supporters, with many resonating with his call for Hindus to assertively protect their heritage.

Referring to his longstanding commitment to Sanatana Dharma, Mr. Kalyan said he has personally drawn strength from the powerful deities of the region. He recalled a spiritual encounter at the revered Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Temple in Jagannathapuram, a site he has frequented since 2009, when he prayed for strength to serve his people. In a symbolic gesture, he pledged to begin this special group under the blessings of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha, aligning with his belief that protection of faith is central to his mission.

Reflecting on the principles he laid out at his ‘Varahi’ declaration in Tirupati, Pawan Kalyan reiterated that Hindus must fearlessly uphold their values. He called upon authorities across Andhra Pradesh to safeguard the sanctity of temples and address issues faced by devotees, especially women. He further underscored the need for increased vigilance, including the establishment of police outposts at prominent temples to prevent disruptions and ensure a respectful environment.

Mr. Kalyan’s Narasimha Varahi Ganam is expected to take swift action on matters impacting Hindu temples and heritage. As a first priority, the group will work towards resolving a 50-acre land dispute involving the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Temple in Jagannathapuram. Mr. Kalyan assured that if the land is restored, new facilities would be built for devotees, encouraging greater spiritual tourism and providing employment to the local community.
