BHUBANESWAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday expressed his gratitude after quoting a social media post by Kendrapara BJP MP and National BJP Vice President Baijayant Panda. The post highlighted a touching moment involving an tribal woman during a BJP membership drive in Odisha’s Sundargarh district.
Quoting Panda’s post, PM Modi wrote, “Very touched by this affection. I bow to our Nari Shakti for always blessing me. Their blessings inspire me to keep working to build a Viksit Bharat.”
In his original post, Panda shared the heartfelt story of an tribal woman who insisted on giving him ₹100 as a token of gratitude for PM Modi’s work. Despite Panda’s attempts to explain that it wasn’t necessary, the woman remained resolute and would not take no for an answer until he accepted the money.
“This is a reflection of the transformation that Odisha and Bharat are experiencing. Jai Jagannath,” Panda remarked in his post.
The gesture is seen as a powerful example of how Modi’s leadership has resonated with people across the country, especially women and marginalized communities.
It is noteworthy that BJP National Vice President Baijayant Panda visited Sundargarh for a one-day tour to oversee the party’s membership drive and other organizational programs. During this time, he held discussions with party workers and office bearers about the membership campaign in the Talsara Assembly constituency. He also interacted with beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Subhadra Yojana.
At the membership drive program organized by the party, Panda urged local party office bearers and workers to put in more effort to increase the number of memberships. He mentioned that BJP’s membership has reached 9 crore so far, and in the coming days, it will grow to 11 crore. He also called on party workers to focus on ensuring that the benefits of various central and state government schemes reach the people.
