NAGPUR: “Sanghik Geet (Collective singing of patriotic songs) creates harmony. Singing in unison fosters a sense of unity. Music, singing, and songs are inherent in every person, bringing it out is the need of the hour”, said RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat while addressing an event Swarabhishek of Freedom, an award distribution ceremony of the patriotic and cultural song competition organised by the Nadbrahma organisation, Nagpur.

Humans have a heart that beats, it produces rhythm. A person’s voice has variations, and the emotions of the mind bring rise and fall to tones. It is the job of tones to express emotions, he said.

He also appreciated the students who participated in the competition and said, “Music is so powerful that its words touch the heart and mind. Hence, it is said that one who does not understand music and drama is not fully human. If a song is dedicated to a great purpose, it is like a bonus (Sone Par Suhaga).”

Citing Veer Savarkar’s poem “Anek Phule Phulti”, Dr Mohan Bhagwat said that any talent or art within us becomes meaningful if we dedicate it to good work. It purifies, sanctifies, and brightens our lives. Singing Sanghik songs is an art of social interaction, and it brings benefits to life.

The event also saw the presence of renowned entrepreneur Satyanarayan Nuwal, Thakur Ramesh Singh, Trustee of Thakur College- Mumbai,Sudhir Pathak, executive president of Mangalya Pratishthan- Nashik, and Padmakar Dhanorkar, president of Nadabrahma organisation, Nagpur.

Cash prizes were given were also given to the winners, Rs 21,000 for first place, Rs 15,000 for second place, and Rs 11,000 for third.
