Guwahati: The Parliament of India should debate the nationwide implementation of the NRC. It was said by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on September 30 in Guwahati. He informed that security personnel are regularly capturing Bangladeshi infiltrators as a result of the unrest in Bangladesh. They expanded across the country after entering across the borders of West Bengal, Assam, and Tripura. After a few weeks of their stay in India, they create Indian Ids and settle here impersonating as Indian nationals . The demographics of various states are shifting as a result of this risky trend. Therefore, CM Sarma continued, it is high time that there should be debate on nationwide NRC in the Parliament.
Assam Police, meantime, detained four intruders from Bangladesh early on September 29th, allegedly trying to enter India without authorization through the Karimganj district. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma revealed that the police operation resulted in their instant deportation back to Bangladesh. The intruders were identified as Tuli Akhtar, Shek Riya, Khatun Eva and Khatun Tahura.
Assam police took a tough stand on September 28 and forced nine Bangladeshis with eight children back across the border. The names of the detained intruders are: -Harul Lamin -Umai Khunsum -Mojur Rahman -Habi Ullah -Sobika Begum -Md. Ismail -Sansida Begum -Rufiya Begum -Fatima Khatun Assam police detained three Bangladeshi infiltrators close to the international border on September 28 while keeping a tight eye on the Indo-Bangladesh border. Three intruders were taken into custody: Masum Khan, Iqbal Hussain, and Mujanur Rehman. Without delay, they were forced to return to Bangladesh. This episode is a part of the Assam government’s larger campaign to stop illegal immigration. Around 100 people have reportedly been deported and arrested recently as a result of unrest in Bangladesh that has sparked an uptick in attempts to enter the country illegally, according to officials.
In the meantime, the Border Security Force (BSF) provided specific intelligence that led to the arrest of ten citizens of Bangladesh by the Meghalaya police. Official sources state that on September 27, 2024, a team from the Zigzag Police Station arrested the nationals of Bangladesh. According to reports, the party was leaving Purakhasia in an auto rickshaw. Based on intelligence from the 50 Battalion BSF, the Purakhasia Police Outpost and the 100 Battalion BSF collaborated to establish a mobile checkpoint on State Highway 12, which runs between Dalu and Ampati.But subsequently, the authorities discovered that the citizens of Bangladesh had already travelled through the region. As soon as possible, the Zigzag Police Station received this information, which allowed them to successfully arrest the suspects.
