Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 25, paid tributes to the leader of Bhartiya Jana Sangh, Deendayal Upadhyaya, on his 107th birth anniversary, recalling his dedication and service to the country.

The Prime Minister highlighted the late politicians concept of “Antyodaya” which means to ensure the rise and development of the last person in society.

“Tributes to the great nationalist thinker Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on his birth anniversary. His concept of Antyodaya will play an invaluable role in achieving the resolution of a developed India. His dedication and service to the country will remain unforgettable,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote in a post on X.

महान राष्ट्रवादी विचारक पंडित दीनदयाल उपाध्याय जी को उनकी जयंती पर कोटि-कोटि नमन। अंत्योदय की उनकी अवधारणा विकसित भारत के संकल्प की सिद्धि में अमूल्य भूमिका निभाने वाली है। देश के लिए उनका समर्पण और सेवा भाव अविस्मरणीय रहेगा। pic.twitter.com/0tZ4oxcZ01

Several other leaders including Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also offered heartfelt tribute to the nationalist leader. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju participated in a ‘Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2024’ at a park near Pandit Deendayal Antyodaya Bhawan (Ministry of Minority Affairs).

“Paying heartfelt tributes to Pandit #DeendayalUpadhyaya on his birth anniversary. His vision of ‘Ekatma Manavvaad’ & ‘Antyodaya’ continues to guide us towards a society where every individual is empowered. Let us honour his legacy by working together for a nation that is self-reliant, inclusive & compassionate,” Rijiju wrote in a post on X.

BJP national president JP Nadda also paid floral tributes to the late politician at party headquarters in Delhi.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah remembered the leader for being a proponent of the “integral humanism” ideology who was committed to purity in politics.

“I pay my tribute to the ardent patriot, pioneer of integral humanism and great political thinker Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on his birth anniversary. Deen Dayal ji remained committed to purity and transparency in politics throughout his life. His idea of Antyodaya strengthened social harmony. Following the principles of cultural nationalism of Deen Dayal Upadhyay ji, who stressed on building a bright future by taking inspiration from the glorious past of the country, Modi ji is taking the benefits of government schemes to the last person standing in the queue of development,” Shah wrote in a post on X.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath unveiled a statue of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya and paid floral tribute to the leader on his birth anniversary. Addressing the media and the people present at the unveiling ceremony, the CM said that he wanted everyone to remember Pandit Deen Dayal’s vision and the hard work he put into building the country.

“On the birth occasion of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, I want you all to remember the vision and hard work that he put into building the country 70 years ago. His principles applied are still seen when we see the progress the country has made. We all are aware that he always used to think of the poor, the farmers, the women and always kept them on the top. He always had empathy towards everyone and followed the vision of self-dependency. His visions are the reason why the people of India could avail proper benefits of resources during the deadly COVID-19.”
